🌽 Empowering Farmers to Grow Quality Maize Seed with Yara Crop Nutrition for Food Security in Kenya 🇰🇪 High-quality seeds are essential for #FoodSecurity, providing farmers with the potential for optimal crop stands and maximizing yields. Last Thursday, Yara hosted over 150 seed farmers at Lulu Farm in Trans-Nzoia County, Kenya, to showcase the results of seed crop demonstrations using our Maize Nutrition Program. The focus? Helping growers and seed companies sustainably produce top-quality seeds. 🌱 Our collaboration with Kenya’s seed growers has driven significant improvements in balanced #CropNutrition and #SoilHealth management practices. Farms like Lulu have seen yields increase from 1,200 kg to over 2,000 kg of clean seed per acre! 📈 Participants at the field day witnessed these impressive results firsthand and are eager to apply these insights on their own farms in the upcoming season. 🌾 At Yara, we provide solutions that help seed merchants produce sufficient, healthy, and high-quality seeds that propel future generations toward greater #prosperity. 🌱 Ensuring Sufficient Nutrients for Climate-Smart Apples Apple cultivation is crucial to the economy of Himachal Pradesh, a state in India. However, recent extreme weather events have posed significant challenges. Research shows that consistent, balanced nutrition can help orchards withstand these stresses, ensuring healthier, more resilient trees. 🍎 Take the example of Naresh Kashyap, a progressive farmer from Shimla who has adopted Yara’s balanced nutrition practices. Despite a drop in statewide apple production, Naresh managed to achieve 80% of his typical yield and retained 90% of his orchard's leaves during the high-disease pressure months.
