What do you do if your decision-making skills are being tested in a high-pressure situation?
Time is essence and sometimes we may not have the luxury of adequate time. I have encountered numerous such a situation throughout the last three and a half decades of my working life. Decision making under pressure or stress conditions entails mental agility in terms of whatever-available data analysis, evaluation of possible options and calculated risk taking. This is what I usually practise. The outcome is not always what I hoped for or expected. As matured leaders and professionals, it is important to acknowledge and accept the outcome of our decision. Do a self-reflection, remediate or rectify the don'ts and should-nots for future improvements.
