You can start with active listening: focus on listening to your client attentively and without judgment. Reflect back on what they say to ensure they feel heard and understood. This approach builds trust and paves the way for deeper conversations. Remember, if you aren't mindful while listening, you won't build trust and won't be able to effectively coach them. In IBM, I initiated the "Funs Lunch" to ease conflict. I asked the two conflict teams/individuals to join lunch and each of them needed to prepare positive things/comments about others, they will take turns to share the positive or good things of others with the group, and the one able to find the highest number of positive things about other will win the games. This is work most of the time but we need to ensure that NO negative things or characters or actions are shared.

I normally use the 10X methodology to inspire the team. Ask them to do a planning session to achieve 10 times the workload, after they mentally prepare to achieve this new 10x workload, achieving 1x workload will be much easier. This is not only work for the team but also for managers.
