I wrote this book to challenge the global community against allowing a future without a substantial working middle class as with employment and wage polarisation exacerbating wealth inequality Aristotle (384–322 BC) had warned against in his book 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 (IV.11.1295b4–6) but to, instead, co-create a future with greater common, shared prosperity for our children, grandchildren and future generations.

I wrote this note of encouragement for fresh graduates and young law professionals who, understandably, may be somewhat despondent and forlorn given that we are now in the third year of adapting and coping with the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 ("𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐒-𝐂𝐨𝐕-2") and the worldwide impact from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

I wrote this book chapter to encourage the development and use of artificial intelligence for the common good following the teaching and wisdom of Aristotle and Confucius.

I wrote this article to create greater awareness of the interconnection between work and technology and as a small contribution towards the wider, collective efforts for a human-centric future with inclusive and shared prosperity.

I wrote this article to engender debate and discussion by the wider legal community to formulate a common shared vision on how the legal profession can and should harness and use artificial intelligence, machine learning and technology above and beyond economic efficiency and for reducing costs, for refining judgment and skills of lawyers and not for replacing work undertaken by lawyers, for delivering greater value-added solutions to consumers of legal services, and, most importantly, for enhancing access to justice and promoting the rule of law adopting a holistic, whole of justice perspective and approach since the “best way to predict your future is to create it”, according to the Father of Management, Peter Ferdinand Drucker (November 1909 to November 2005).
