How do you handle job candidates with employment gaps or lacking experience?
It's essential to be intentional to keep an open mind while screening applications/resumes. One tip I'd like to share is that recruiters will need to establish and build rapport with candidates right from the beginning process when doing phone screening. Once rapport is established, it's easier to learn and understand a little more in-depth from them on their employment gaps. It's also a good practice to provide acknowledgment cues during the conversation to demonstrate that they're being heard.
