🚀 Celebrating Excellence at Elaphe! 🚀  We are thrilled to recognize the extraordinary efforts of Matej Lovrić, Aleš Ručigaj, and Lovro Blagotinsek as our Engineers of the Week for their exceptional work in controls and application development. They have done an amazing job in tuning our newest development vehicles in ride, handling, and longitudinal and lateral controls, among other things.  Their proactive and self-initiated approach has set a new standard for excellence in line with Elaphe’s core values. 👏 Thank you, Matej, Aleš, and Lovro, for your dedication and exceptional teamwork! Your contributions are driving Elaphe forward and providing the baseline for continued success. 

We have some important news to share. While Elaphe continues to support Aptera's mission, we have been focused on working with multiple legacy OEMs as they begin to adopt this new technology. Newcomers like Aptera are important clients in pushing technological and time-to-market boundaries. Elaphe's custom-designed in-wheel hub motors were intended for the Aptera powertrain due to their inherent efficiency and enablement of advanced powertrain architecture. In 2022, Elaphe completed the development of motors and achieved the anticipated results, demonstrating the performance and efficiency of this cutting-edge technology. Despite the impressive performance of the hub motors, Aptera has decided to adopt an already mass-produced legacy e-axle system for the front wheels. This decision is aimed at ensuring timely integration and cost-effectiveness, while still considering the hub motor as an option for the rear wheels in all-wheel-drive Aptera models.

We often think of engineering as a field reserved for those who design bridges, write code, or build machinery. But let us broaden our perspective: engineering is not just about hardware and software – it is the foundation of how our company functions.  And this week, we honor Tina Čadež a quiet force behind our success.   Her dedication is unwavering – she is the embodiment of hard work, consistently going above and beyond.  Tina has been instrumental in Elaphe’s project management operations. Over the past year, she has orchestrated countless deployments and through her efforts we can ensure seamless operations.  Tina’s commitment to excellence is inspiring and motivational. 🎉 Celebrating Engineer of the Week: Matej Lovrić🎉 We are thrilled to announce that Matej Lovrić has been awarded Engineer of the Week for his outstanding contributions to the PCU (Powertrain Control Unit) software development in one of our key strategic projects. Matej's exceptional work has enabled significant advancements, greatly facilitating the software development efforts of the VMC team. His contributions have also enhanced the virtual testing of the PCU and the demo vehicle, ensuring smooth operations ahead of physical customer demo drives and events. Additionally, Matej developed scripts for automatic code generation from the Simulink model, streamlining our processes and boosting efficiency. His dedication and exceptional efforts, often extending into personal time, make him truly deserving of this recognition. Matej’s commitment and innovation have been pivotal to our project's success. Sustainability is also about delivering more with less! More function, features, range space and performance with fewer components, natural resources, less energy and pollution. In the realm of EVs, it’s not about adding more hardware but about refining the architecture, polishing components, and fostering the evolution of algorithms, software, and functionalities. It is important to note, that such purification process requires much more efforts than just adding stuff, so acceptance and efforts of many entities and experts are required to accomplish it. But this is the way to both sustainability and competitiveness. I was honoured to share these insights at the National Academy of Sciences during the US-EU symposium in Washington and at the Slovenia-Germany (Bavaria) conference. The Landrovers have reimagined the Landrover Defender with a new bespoke platform called the Panterra. This electromod platform will underpin a limited series of unique vehicles with unprecedented battery capacity and true all-wheel drive. The classic and robust styling of the Land Rover's original 25-year-old chassis combines modern comfort, performance, and reliability. Built around Elaphe’s direct-drive distributed architecture, it delivers 150 HP per wheel, totaling 600 HP. The gear-less nature of in-wheel motors ensures direct propulsion and regenerative braking with unparalleled control frequency, significantly enhancing comfort, off-road handling, and control for a true luxury adventure experience.

EU-US Transportation Symposium While #software will be pivotal in decarbonizing #transportation, the path to optimal implementation and strategy remains somewhat unclear. Here's why: Just software won’t do the trick 😊. 1. A holistic approach integrating software & hardware for vehicle mission is essential. 2. User experience of key stakeholders needs to be considered as the key requirement. 3. Delivering an ultimate driving experience that maximizes personalized comfort and optimizes for ambitious low emission & resource targets will capture substantial market share and has the potential to make a major sustainability impact. It is time for software defined vehicle HW architecture that plays well on the vehicle and IoT levels.
