AstraZeneca plc (/ˌæstrəˈzɛnəkə/) is a BritishSwedish multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company with its headquarters in Cambridge, England.[1] It is registered in London, United Kingdom. AstraZeneca Plc was formed in 1999 by merging the Swedish Astra AB and the British Zeneca Ltd. Drugs produced by the company are sold in more than 100 countries. More than 57 thousand people work for the company. AstraZeneca's factories are in 20 countries. Sales in 2012 amounted to almost 28 billion dollars.

Pascal Soriot was the best-paid FTSE chief executive in 2022, with a total package of £15.3 million.

The share price has risen about 80% in the past five years.[2]

AstraZeneca creates treatments for cancer, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, infection, neuroscience, respiratory and inflammation.[3]
