“I have had the privilege of working under Maggie leadership for the period December 2021-February 2024 and I can confidently say that Maggie is a great Leader and a dedicated and talented International Development professional. Her attention to detail, strong work ethic, and continuous availability to accompany her team made her success in setting up the Sahel Department within TBI and the development of a specific Delivery Offer for Governments and political leaders in fragile/post-conflict countries and transitional contexts. Maggie consistently inspires excellence and helps her team deliver high-quality work and is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure project success. She has an excellent exposure to the West African context and is permanently coaching her team paying a particular attention to building national capacities and focusing on women and youth. I highly recommend Maggie for Senior Leadership roles and am confident in her ability to excel in any role in the most challenging contexts.”

Here's how you can enhance your empathy skills as a program manager.
Empathetic feedback and active listening are two of the key areas I have found to really get a message across and help a team member effectively move forward and grow. Cultural competence and putting yourself in their place also goes a long way. If we want to grow and build effective teams people need to be seen and heard from where they are and that needs to start with leadership and managers. If you set the tone with compassion and empathy your team will follow.
