SOURCE is the community engagement and service-learning center for the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Schools of Public Health, Nursing, and Medicine.
SOURCE’s mission is to engage the Johns Hopkins University health professional schools and Baltimore communities in mutually beneficial partnerships that promote health and social justice.
We also serve as a channel for student, faculty and staff involvement with community organizations, and local projects.
SOURCE has a particular, but not exclusive, focus on East Baltimore neighborhoods in close proximity to the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus.

Now accepting applications for our Student Governing Board
SOURCE seeks community-minded students to serve on our Student Governing Board in 2024-25! Help us plan outreach events, determine new community-based partners, create content for social media, lead critical reflection sessions, and numerous other opportunities this academic year. Open to students in BSPH (non-MPH), SON (new MEN or doctoral students), and SOM (MS1s only). Apply by Sun, September 15.
Congratulations to our August Star of the Month, Stéphie-Anne Dulièpre from the Bloomberg School of Public Health! Stéphie served as SOURCE's Social Justice and Reflection Program Assistant in 2023-24, and has been doing outstanding work to support our community storytelling project, "Health (In)Justice in Baltimore"! She is also actively collaborating with others on campus to advance justice within our walls here at Hopkins.
