BARDSTOWN, Ky. — A court document released late Friday suggests where Crystal Rogers’ body could be located.

The document is from Nelson Circuit court and it says detectives met with Stephen Lawon on Nov. 21, 2023 along Thompson Hill Road in Cox’s Creek.

The document says Lawson said he saw his son, Joseph Lawson and another man digging on July 4, 2015 which was the day after Rogers disappeared.

According to the document, Stephen Lawson said they were “burning and digging” further down Thompson Hill Road with construction equipment.

Lawson tells detectives they burned “large amounts of wood in a hole” at the request of another person, according to the document.

Lawson is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence. He appeared in a Nelson County courtroom on Thursday, June 13, asking to have the charges against him dismissed because he was verbally offered immunity for information. HIs son, Joseph, faces the same charges. A judge will rule on Stephen Lawson’s request, but did not indicate when that decision would come.

Rogers’ former boyfriend, Brooks Houck, is charged with murder in the case. Houck and both Lawson men are charged together.

Rogers, a mother of five, disappeared on July 3, 2015. Her body has never been found.
