  • The Blue Jays are 44-52, 14 games off the AL East lead.
  • Toronto is on a 6-8 run.
  • Baseball Reference gives the Blue Jays a 0.1% chance of making the postseason.

Toronto Blue Jays baseball odds reflect what has been a massively disappointing season. A few months ago, the Jays were one of the dark horses in the American League behind the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees. On July 15, they are out of contention in the division and face little chance of landing a wild-card spot.

As the trade deadline nears, the Jays are almost certainly sellers with Justin Turner and Yusei Kikuchi among the players most likely to be moved.

Toronto Blue Jays World Series Odds

The Blue Jays remain at +20000 in the latest World Series odds. They opened at +1600 but have seen their price lengthen significantly. This is a team that carried title aspirations before the season began but only three American League teams have lost more games than the Jays at the time of writing.

There is obviously no value in backing the Jays at this point. Only four AL teams have longer odds to win the 2024 Fall Classic.

Toronto Blue Jays Win Total Odds

The Blue Jays’ preseason win total was 87.5. They have won just 44 of their first 96 games this season. To hit the over, they would need to win 44 of their remaining 66 games.

A record of 44-22 the rest of the way would require a .667 winning percentage. No MLB team has won two-thirds of their games so far this season, and nothing from the Jays indicates they are capable of that kind of seismic turnaround.

Toronto Blue Jays Odds To Win the AL East

The Blue Jays are +50000 to win the AL East. Currently 14 games behind the division-leading Baltimore Orioles, Toronto is out of contention. They are four games behind the Tampa Bay Rays and 9.5 games off the third-placed Boston Red Sox.

I thought there was some value in the Jays as an outsider to win the division earlier in the year. Ranking 25th in run differential, this team has been just as poor as their record shows.

Toronto Blue Jays Odds To Win the AL Pennant

The Blue Jays are +12500 to win the AL pennant. The betting markets have put Toronto in a group with the Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels, Oakland Athletics and Chicago White Sox. No other team is longer than +6600.

Fangraphs gives the Jays just a 0.2% chance of winning the ALCS. It would be a truly historic second half for them to reach the playoffs and make the World Series from where they are at the moment.

Toronto Blue Jays Prop Bets

A few weeks ago, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to win MVP seemed like a fun, value online sports betting option. There was a point where Yusei Kikuchi could have been a Cy Young candidate.

Both players are longer than +10000 to win their respective awards now. As expected for a season this disappointing, Toronto does not have any realistic candidates for MVP or Cy Young.

Sporting a .912 OPS, however, Spencer Horwitz has a reasonable shot at winning Rookie of the Year. His underlying metrics are solid, and it’s a pretty open field behind Wyatt Langford.
