The Toronto Raptors finished the 2023-2024 season with a 25-57 record, falling way short of the playoffs.
The Raptors traded away Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby last season, adding pieces that will help shape the future of the organization.
Let’s take a look at their NBA championship odds heading into next season.
Raptors Odds, Betting Predictions for 2025 NBA Championship
The Toronto Raptors basketball odds to win the title are +50000 at the BetMGM online sportsbook.
The Raptors are not expected to compete for a championship in 2025, and they’d be lucky to even compete for a play-in spot.
Toronto officially turned the chapter on their glorious championship run in 2019 by trading away Siakam and Anunoby and letting Fred VanVleet walk in 2023 free agency.
The Raptors acquired RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a second-round pick from the New York Knicks in the Anunoby trade. They also added Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora, and three first-round picks from the Indiana Pacers in the Siakam trade.
Barrett averaged 21.8 points on 55.8% shooting, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 32 games with his hometown team last season, showcasing the versatility on offence that made him the third overall pick by the Knicks in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Quickley averaged 18.6 points and 6.8 assists per game since heading north of the border.
Both guys are expected to be key parts of the Raptors rebuild and can help take the scoring load off of Scottie Barnes, who recently signed a max extension to extend his stay in The 6.

Since their championship run, the Raptors have developed a reputation for being a high-powered defensive team, but they’re currently one of the worst defensive teams in the league.
However, Barnes has developed into a defensive ace, which suggests to me that the Raptors will prioritize defence as their identity during their rebuild.
Given the current climate of the NBA, that is a wise approach to take. We saw the Boston Celtics win a championship without a tier-one superstar, as they instead loaded up on wing and point-of-attack defenders to complement Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. They also benefited from Kristaps Porziņģis’ rim-protecting skills.
We also just saw the Knicks send away a boatload of draft picks to acquire Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets and re-sign Anunoby to shore up their wing depth in an effort to compete with the Celtics next season.
Barnes has the potential to reach the same level as Tatum or Brown given his blend of skills that overlap with those of Boston’s star duo.
Barnes is at his best when he initiates the offence as the lead ball handler. He is a relentless finisher at the rim but also displays the playmaking prowess to make the right reads on the fly and find his open teammates.
There are going to be a ton of growing pains for the Raptors next season, but the blueprint seems to be building around Barnes, Barrett, and Quickley and slowly building out a roster loaded with 3-point shooters, elite defenders, and willing passers.
