Tens of millions of Euros are paid out annually to competitors, from tournament winners all the way down to one-and-done teenagers who lose in their first qualifying match.
This year, the Wimbledon event has expanded the total purse by more than 10%. The total prize money handed out has now hit $65 million, falling just a tad shy of last year’s record-setting U.S. Open prize pool.
Last year’s singles champions, Carlos Alcaraz and Marketa Vondrousova, will both enter this year’s London draw with a head of steam after deep runs at Roland Garros.Â
In Alcaraz’s case, he won the French Open and seized the $2.5 million at the center of the 2024 French Open prize money pot.Â
