Astros put McCormick on IL with fractured hand

The Houston Astros placed outfielder Chas McCormick on the 10-day injured list Thursday because of a small fracture on his right hand. The move is retroactive to Wednesday, one day after McCormick suffered the injury after running into the right-field wall while chasing down a foul ball in Houston's loss to the Oakland Athletics. "It's really disappointing," said McCormick, who returned from a short minor league stint earlier this month. It's a disappointing season overall and not the way I wanted it to happen because I have been feeling good.
