Job description

A funded 50 %, 3 year researcher position is available in the project “Long-term effects of SARS-CoV-2 infection: An interdisciplinary observational and interventional study program” led by professor Torbjørn Omland at Campus Ahus (Akershus University Hospital), Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo. 

The position is in WP 3 led by professor Vegard Bruun Bratholm Wyller. 

The researcher will

1. Contribute to design of a planned randomised controlled trial (RCT), including writing of a detailed study protocol, seeking ethical committee approval, etc.

2. Conduct the RCT, including supervising a PhD candidate affiliated with the same project, coordinating research support personnel, etc. 

3. Analyzing data and publishing results in scientific journals. 

The candidate

The candidate must possess previous research experience within the field of post-infective persistent symptoms, for instance chronic fatigue following acute Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection. Clinical experiences with the same patient group is also considered beneficial. 

Qualification requirements

  • MD 
  • At least three years of clinical experience in a relevant field (internal medicine, general practice, pediatrics, infectious diseases, etc.). 
  • Ph.D. or equivalent (in medicine) 
  • Fluent in English 
  • Fluent in Norwegian due to RCT
