This AI platform offers tailored expertise in social media, copywriting, finance and more

AI chatbots come in all shapes and sizes, but some stand out by giving you access to specialized tools trained to be content specialists. Consultio gives you access to a panel of "AI specialists." In practice, that means a few dozen AI chatbots trained on an impressive range of topics.

You can talk to a social media specialist, an interview prep coach, personal trainers, teachers on different topics, a retail sales specialist, a contract negotiator, and even a health psychologist (though the AI can't replace actual medical professionals). 

I started my first conversation with Nathan Porter, the Copywriter AI. Up top, there's a brief blurb where Nathan tells you about what he can do. There's a little play button that will also read the selection aloud in an extremely robotic voice, but he's a writer, not a voice actor. 

The interface gives you the option to toggle between output languages, tone, and writing style. There are dozens of language options from UK English to Bahasa Malaysia. Tone options include emotional, professional, humorous, melancholic, and analytical, among others. Writing style options are similarly diverse with settings for narrative, poetic, scientific, and plenty more.

To find out just how much of a difference the tone and style settings make, I entered the same prompt twice: "Write a brief overview of what Consultio can do." 

The first time was set to Humorous and Analytical and produced a that sounded a bit like a carnival barker meets car salesman: "At Consultio, we add the rigor of academia, the agility of a ninja, sprinkle a dash of mad scientist inventiveness, and stir in a dollop of wisdom with a Jedi-master-like understanding."

Setting the tone to Educational and the writing style to scientific produced appropriately different results: "Just as an ecologist would study various species within an ecosystem to understand relationships and predict future changes, Consultio scrutinizes the different components within your business." 

While the tone and style toggles certainly have a dramatic effect on the content Cunsultio produces, it's worth noting that the AI has some of the same hangups as ChatGPT. Namely, it struggles to create new information. That's evident because both of its descriptions of Consultio itself were either vague or entirely fabricated. 

Asking the AI any question costs credits, on display in the top of the page. Changing the tone and writing style settings costs more credits. My lifetime subscription gave me 100,000,000 credits, and asking about 20 questions overall only depleted about 4,000 of them.
