Whether you're looking to expand your studies or make progress toward your degree at your home university, make the most of your summer by choosing from more than 600 courses taught by Berkeley faculty. Study business, engineering, math, science, psychology, arts and humanities, languages, and more and earn a Berkeley transcript at the end of the summer.

Summer on Your Terms

Design a schedule that works for you! We offer online and in-person courses over 3-, 6-, 8-, or 12- week sessions so you can maximize your summer. Study alongside Berkeley students and other visiting students and make friends from all over the world.

Summer Sessions Program Overview

This information session presents everything you need to know about Berkeley Summer Sessions including class schedules, academic culture, costs and student testimonials.

How to Apply

Check if you are eligible for Summer Sessions, then apply through our application portal.

Once your application is processed, you will be sent an email with instructions on how to create your UC Berkeley login (CalNet ID). You will use this information to enroll in classes and pay fees.

Fees

Summer Sessions visiting students do not pay out-of-state tuition, only international students pay additional registration fees. Domestic visitor fees apply to those who are not currently enrolled in a degree program at a University of California campus.

Visiting students are welcome to take courses in any and all sessions. There are no minimum unit requirements per session, but we do recommend no more than 10 units in any session.
