Today, under our ESG agenda, focusing on the (E)nvironment element, we had the honour of hosting an insightful training session on recycling and waste separation, focused on our Partners' products and their commitment to sustainability. We were thrilled to learn about how they re-use food waste to produce high-quality fertilizers, a testament to their dedication to environmental stewardship. To further our efforts in creating shared value for the communities we serve, we were honoured to have Thandeka Dlamini from the Ezulwini Municipality join us to sensitize our staff on the importance of waste separation from the source, emphasizing the crucial role each individual plays in promoting a cleaner and greener future. Through our partnership with Gwacatela Co-operative, we are actively contributing to the economic empowerment of women whilst championing environmental conservation. Our profound gratitude to the women at Gwacatela Co Op and Thandeka Dlamini for the impactful session we had. We are thrilled to have been a part in the Enactus National Competition 2024 through a E150,000 sponsorship, where students from UNESWA’s Mbabane and Luyengo campuses; Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, and SANU Health Science department vied for the first price in the national ENACTUS ESWATINI competition. In line with our Ambition 2025 strategy, we are actively collaborating with partners and communities to create shared value, with ESG at the core. This is part of our deliberate action towards sustainable development and improving livelihoods through youth empowerment programs in the communities we serve. The projects presented showcased remarkable innovation and a commitment to environmental sustainability and the economic advancement of Eswatini. At MTN, we value socio economic development in areas of youth empowerment and sustainable practices. Our Head of Corporate Affairs, Sibusiso Nhleko, representing MTN presented the award “Spirit of Enactus” and the “national competition awards”. we extend our heartily congratulations to all the participants, the victors, and the institutions for their encouragement of the students' diverse projects. We wish them all the very best as they continue to grow their businesses and create opportunities for the youth within their communities.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of visiting Business Eswatini as part of our annual stakeholder engagement activities.  The MTN team led by the CEO, Wandile Mtshali, engaged with the Business Eswatini team on several issues aimed at ensuring that we continue to collectively ensure that every Liswati enjoys the benefits of modern connected life.
