Hi Sarah! I believe you’ve mentioned the idea that there’s on TS song on each album that points to what her next album will sound like (e.g. lover’s it’s nice to have a friend -> folklore). Now that we’ve had TTPD for ~5 months, I think the midnights’ song that most predicts TTPD’s sound is ‘glitch.’ What do you think??

I can definitely see “Glitch” and think that works but I also think “WCS”.

If Taylor were to change stylist, who would you like to see her work with? Also who is your favorite personal favorite makeup artist and stylist? What celeb always gets their fashion right on and off the runway

Imo it’s impossible to be “always” right but I enjoy Erin Walsh’s work for Anne Hathaway as of late. Karla Welch made magic for America Ferrera during the recent awards circuit.

I loved what Jamie Mizrahi did for Jennifer Lawrence’s revamped street style. Super chic.

What era did Taylor really lean into wearing oxfords? What era is your favorite Taylor street style?

I’d say she started wearing them around Speak Now but leaned into them the most during RED.

It’s hard to say - I have a lot of fondness for all her street style eras because I have so many memories documenting the entire process here on the blog. It’s also hard because my personal style is actually not that close to Taylor’s so there’s a distinction between what I love seeing on her and what I’d love to copy + paste.

If you wanted to break it down from the last time I did my “All Time Favourite Outfits” list (which was admittedly almost seven years ago now?!? how?!?) then it would look like this pie chart:

Hey Sarah! Can I ask what are your thoughts about So Long, London? I read your TTPD Patreon post (amazing!) and I loved the joke about raw dogging it but I'm intrigued about how you recevived it and feel about it now? I personally sobbed my eyes out and I rarely cry to music. Therapy session I had that week was very fun😂 The same thing happened when I first heard You're Losing Me💔 (totally fine if you dont like it at all, I'm just interested)

Hi! Firstly tysm for reading either part of the TTPD recap on the TSS newsletter that means a lot (Part I HERE // Part II HERE).

re: “So Long London” I like it and there are many oof-worthy lines all throughout the song that are beautifully devastating. Everything about the song is right and rife for me to lose my mind, body, and soul over it and I thoroughly enjoy its sadness but it’s not an *all timer* for me. At least right now!

I’d personally select “Smallest Man” over it atm!

I thought if she was taking songs out to make space for TTPD, Mastermind was a no-brainer. It's fun but it doesn't bring anything special to the Midnights set in the way that literally all the others do.

I get why she included “Mastermind” in the setlist because … the mastermind of it all. But in terms of ‘fun’ and 'special’ I agree with you on that.

Hi Sarah! I’ve seen other people talking about this and it made me curious — what songs from Lover & beyond do you think are going to become mainstays for future tours, a la love story/ybwm/wanegbt/shake it off/blank space/style/bad blood?

(Also this made me realize that wanegbt has been on every tour since its release which is crazy to me?? Like obviously it’s a huge song, but compared to the others it doesn’t seem like it’s had the same timeless cultural impact — like I hear it and immediately feel like its 2012 again)

Oh fun q! I feel like “Cruel Summer” and “Anti-Hero” are locks for this but can’t say for certain about others.

Setting aside the shock WCS designation in the ask, anon's question does remind me that I wanted to get your take on Maroon, Sarah. I've long fallen into the Jake-as-muse camp, for any number of reasons/lyrics (shades of red, dancing in New York, etc), but I did see one take that really struck me, where the poster made an argument for Joe, since Maroon is deeper and more intense than Red, so it must be referring to a deeper and more intense relationship. It hasn't swayed me, but your thoughts?

I get what they’re saying but I also think we’re overthinking the obvious here.

And while I get what they mean by “deeper and more intense” they likely mean “length of relationship and significance”. But post-RED TV and “The Manuscript” I don’t think it can be made any clearer that her relationship with Jake was deep, intense, and of huge significance to the ripple effects in her approach to love and relationships basically for every relationship thereafter.

The Eras Tour has so much going on and has such a span of *gestures hands wildly* that like, I don't even think about the fact that she plays ATW10 every night. Like that is not a wow omg so crazy moment for me anymore. It's not a part of the Livestream that I toon into anymore. Like wow.

Isn’t that just wild? The breadth and drama and theatrics and depth of her catalogue being such that a ten minute sweeping ballad has to compete for a Top 5 best moment in the production of the show.

I do think that a lot of the power of “ATW10” is a bit punctured by being moved up so early into the show now - I loved it being this emotional tentpole at the center of the show but understand things had to make way for TTPD.
