Manchester United and Arsenal in stalemate

Manchester United and Arsenal played out a gritty goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal were without in-form youngster Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kieran Tierney but came closest to scoring when Alexandre Lacazette hit the bar from a free-kick.

Both sides also made early substitutions, as Scott McTominay was taken off in the first-half for Manchester United due to a stomach illness and Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli was substituted at the break.

United have set a club record of 18 unbeaten away league games, but remain in second place while Arsenal are eighth.

Manchester City continue winning streak

Manchester City won their 12th consecutive game, courtesy of ninth-minute Gabriel Jesus winner.

City beat Premier League strugglers Sheffield United 1-0 at the Etihad to consolidate their position at the top of the table and give Pep Guardiola his 500th managerial career win.

Elsewhere, West Brom and Fulham played out an entertaining 2-2 draw while Eberechi Eze continued his impressive form by firing Crystal Palace to a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ibrahimovic misses penalty in Milan victory

Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw his penalty saved in AC Milan’s 2-1 Serie A victory at Bologna.

Ibrahimovic, who was given a one-match Coppa Italia ban after his clash with Romelu Lukaku in Tuesday’s Milan derby, missed his 26th minute spot-kick but Ante Rebic scored from the rebound.

Franck Kessie doubled Milan’s lead before Andrea Poli pulled a goal back for Bologna late in the game.

The result lifts Milan five points clear of second-placed Inter.

Jadon Sancho scores as Dortmund end winless run

Jadon Sancho scored as Borussia Dortmund ended a run of three games without a win by coming from behind to beat Augsburg 3-1 in the Bundesliga.

The fixture also saw Erling Braut Haaland missed the first penalty of his professional career, as he thundered his effort off the woodwork.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich triumphed over Hoffenheim 4-1 to go 10 points clear in the Bundesliga.

Real Madrid falter against Levante

10-men Real Madrid were beaten 2-1 at home by Levante in La Liga.

Real had defender Eder Militao sent-off after nine minutes but they took the lead soon after through Marco Asensio.

Jose Luis Morales levelled for Levante and Roger Marti scored the winner with 12 minutes remaining.

Madrid remain seven points behind league leaders Atletico.

Amad Diallo shines on Manchester United Under-23s debut

Manchester United’s new signing Amad Diallo scored twice on his under-23s debut, including a Panenka penalty.

United beat Liverpool 6-3 in a thrilling game and 17-year-old Joe Hugill also netted four goals.

Diallo signed from Atalanta for an initial fee worth £19 million in October but joined the club in January.
