Tom Cruise Allegedly 'Bothered' By Ex-Wife Nicole Kidman Talking About Their Failed Marriage

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's marriage may have ended over two decades ago, but their past relationship continues to make headlines.

In a recent interview, the actress reflected on their time together after being asked if their "Eyes Wide Shut" film drew inspiration from their romance.

Nicole Kidman's comments on their marriage have reportedly left Tom Cruise feeling "irritated."

The "Mission: Impossible" star is understood to be upset over Kidman's comments about their marriage in a new interview.

"Tom doesn't understand why Nicole constantly seems to constantly reference the times they shared together," a source told In Touch. "Even if it is more about the work they did together, it still bothers him because it's so far in the past and something he'd like to forget."

"He's said goodbye to that chapter of his life so long ago and doesn't understand why she can't do the same, especially since she's supposedly so happy with Keith," the insider explained. "For Nicole, it's just nonsense because she's just answering questions that pertain to her career, but there's no denying she does love to go into detail about Tom's creative genius."

Kidman and Cruise got married in 1990 and shared kids Isabella and Connor, whom they adopted during their relationship. The pair split in 2001, after which she married Keith Urban in 2006.

Cruise, for his part, tied the knot with Katie Holmes that same year before splitting in 2012.

The insider further claimed that Kidman's marriage to Cruise helped boost her career.

They said the actress's "star power was at its peak when she was with Tom" and that their marriage "catapulted her to stardom."

"That's when she really made it. Tom understands all that, but he's just at a tipping point," the insider said. "He can handle most of the noise and rumors about him, but Nicole has been so poisonous about him to all their mutual friends."

The source noted that it "irritates" Cruise that Kidman is "willing to get mileage out of his name when it suits her," adding, "He feels used and wishes she'd have the couth to simply make those questions off limits, the way he does."

The issue stemmed from a July interview Kidman gave to the Los Angeles Times, in which she discussed working with her ex-husband in the 1999 film "Eyes Wide Shut."

Kidman and Cruise played a married couple whose relationship seemingly soured after the wife admitted to fantasizing about another man, promoting the husband to join an underground group that's obsessed with sex.

During her chat with the publication, the 57-year-old actress was asked if director Stanley Kubrick took inspiration from her and Cruise's real-life romance for the film.

"I suppose he was mining it," she replied. "There were ideas he was interested in. He'd ask a lot of questions. But he had a strong sense of the story he was telling. I do remember him saying, 'Triangles are hard. You have to tread carefully when it's a triangle.'"

Kidman, who has remained tight-lipped on her relationship with her children, recently disclosed that she's in contact with them despite their close ties with Cruise.

"I have four children, so to stay in touch with them is very important. I'm definitely engaged in [texting] but I don't let it rule my life," she previously told DeJour magazine.

Besides her adopted kids, Isabella and Connor, the "Aquaman" actress shares daughters, Sunday and Faith, with her husband, Keith Urban.

On the other hand, Cruise has a strained relationship with his daughter, Suri Cruisem, which has seemingly affected her relationship with his eldest children.

A source told the Daily Mail that Suri has a "non-existent" relationship with her older siblings, as she has seemingly shut down their efforts to maintain contact.

"They haven't had contact in a decade, and there are several reasons why," a source told the news outlet. "First and foremost is the church of Scientology. Suri's father and brother do not associate with her because of their devotion to the church, so why would she have a relationship with her siblings?"

The insider went further to share that Cruise's eldest children felt like "outcasts" because Suri is his biological child.

"Secondly, there is some jealousy from Connor and Isabella when it comes to Suri because she is Tom's biological child," the source explained, adding that "They are grateful that they were adopted but having no relationship with their mom, her family, Suri, and that entire circle has made them feel outcast."
