‘Agatha All Along’ Trailer: Kathryn Hahn & Aubrey Plaza Cast Witchcraft Spells In Marvel’s Upcoming Mini-Series [D23]

Fresh off their appearance at Comic-Con, arguably more scaled back than usual, Marvel Studios was back at Disney’s D23 Expo, and while the film was the driving promotional force in San Diego, in Anaheim, Marvel Television was given the spotlight and brought the goods. Starting with their upcoming series “Agatha All Along,” a fantasy dark comedy mini-series and follow-up to “WandaVision” centering on Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness villain from that show, Marvel’s Kevin Feige was on stage to unveil a new trailer for the spin-off.

Created by Jac Schaeffer, who created and wrote on “WandaVision,” she’s also an exec producer and writer and has advanced to lead director on “Agatha All Along.” The series follows the infamous Agatha Harkness (Hahn), who finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell.

The show features Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal, a warrior witch in Harkness’s coven and “Heartbreaker” star Joe Locke as the mysterious teen. The supporting cast includes Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp, and Patti LuPone. Many Westview characters from “WandaVision” will also reprise their roles, including Emma Caulfield Ford as Sarah Proctor / “Dottie Jones.”

Additional directors on the series include Gandja Monteiro (“Wednesday“) and Rachel Goldberg (“Gen V”). Marvel chief Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos, and Schaeffer are executive producers on the project.

Earlier in the day, during a D23 music panel, composer Christophe Beck, who wrote the score for “WandaVision,” was confirmed as the composer for “Agatha All Along” as well. Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will return to write songs for the show as well, which definitely does suggest the series to be a kind of proper sequel to “WandaVision.”

Here’s the synopsis:

In “Agatha All Along,” the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven and set off down, down, down The Road…

“Agatha All Along” will start streaming weekly on Disney+, with its first two episodes on September 18, 2024. Watch the new trailer below, as well as a clip of one of the new songs that will be featured in the series.
