‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: Ryan Reynolds Said There Was “A Conversation” About Bringing Back Nic Cage’s Ghost Rider

It’s been two weekends since the release of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and it’s been a massive hit for Marvel Studios. But now is also when Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy are ready to talk about all the cameos in the film. So, if you haven’t seen the film yet and don’t want to be spoiled, then you should definitely avoid… basically the whole internet.

So, if you’re still here reading, we’re going to talk about how Ryan Reynolds told Collider that there was a conversation to bring back Nicolas Cage as Ghost Rider, but nothing ever came of it. When asked if Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider was ever thought of to cameo in the film, Ryan Reynolds said that it did come up, adding that things “came to a conversation for sure. Yeah, but no.”

For those unaware, Nicolas Cage starred in two “Ghost Rider” films for Fox. Neither of the two films are very well liked, and the second one is probably best known for a scene involving Ghost Rider peeing fire. Even still, in this age of nostalgia, there would have been people in the “Deadpool & Wolverine” crowd who would have cheered at the introduction of Cage’s Ghost Rider. Alas, we’ll never see it.

It’s probably for the best, however, as the included cameos were plentiful but didn’t, gratefully, oversaturate “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The inclusion of Ghost Rider could have been the straw that broke the camel’s back, so to speak.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” is in theaters now.
