How do I file an extension for my business taxes?

Follow these steps to file an extension for your business tax return in TurboTax Business:

1. Open your return, select Search, and enter extend.
2. Select Jump to extend.
3. Select Extension of time to file (Form 7004) and Continue.
4. Follow the instructions to prepare and print your 7004 form. This form cannot be e-filed. We'll provide the mailing address and any payment instructions.

Your new extension deadline depends on your business type:

• Partnership income (Form 1065) and S corporation income (Form 1120S) taxes are due September 16, 2024.
• Estates and trusts income (Form 1041) taxes are due September 30, 2024.
• Corporation income (Form 1120) taxes are due October 15, 2024.
  • Unless the fiscal year ends June 30, in which case your return is due September 16, 2024, and the extension gives you until April 15, 2025 to file.
