Dynasty Casts Elaine Hendrix as the New Alexis Carrington in Season 3
Dynasty is getting the band back together. Elaine Hendrix, who co-starred opposite Elizabeth Gillies on FX’s Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, is stepping into the role of Alexis Carrington, TVLine has learned.
This makes Hendrix the third actress to portray the iconic character on The CW‘s Dynasty reboot. Nicollette Sheridan originated the role midway through Season 1, with Gillies (via the magic of plastic surgery) temporarily taking over in Season 2, following Sheridan’s abrupt exit.
According to the network, “Alexis is back in Atlanta, with a new look, a new man, and plenty of scores to settle” in Season 3, though an exact date for the character’s return is not yet known.
In addition to Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, Hendrix’s previous small-screen credits include roles on Proven Innocent, Anger Management, Mistresses and Maron. And lest you doubt her ability to play a conniving mother-type, let us remind you that she once terrorized Lindsay Lohan in the 1998 Parent Trap remake.
Hendrix is one of several new series regulars this season. Last month, TVLine confirmed that Adam Huber (Liam), Michael Michele (Dominique), Sam Underwood (Adam) and Daniella Alonso (Cristal) all received promotions during the summer hiatus.
New episodes of Dynasty air Fridays at 9/8c on The CW. In its international territories, Netflix plans to launch Season 3 all at once in Summer 2020.

She plays bitch so well, great casting and I’m actually warming up to the new crystal so Dynasty is almost set, just bring back Steven and we’ll be good.
Yeah, has no one checked on Steven? I mean, the last we saw him, Adam was drugging him, right? I’m glad he wasn’t killed off, but it doesn’t sound like anyone has gone to see him or even called him. I would really like to see him back.

This is perfect casting right here. We know she can be a B thanks for The Parent Trap and she has a resemblance to Gilles. Very excited to see her in the role!

I hope with this recast they take the trailer trash aspect out of the character. Alexis was always sophisticated and elegant in the role of the conniving banished mother and jaded ex-wife.

Yes it’s ridiculous, but it’s enertaining. Elizabeth Gillies gives heart to Fallon and makes her more than just a rich brat.
Perfect casting choice- a blend of Nicollette Sheridan and Liz Gillies- brilliant!!
I like Elaine, but I’m less worried about the casting than I am the characterization and writing for Alexis. I hope the producers and writers get a good handle on this. I didn’t think the pathetic sad-sack scheming when Nicolette was playing the part got to the point of being unwatchable, but that’s not what I want from Alexis’ return.

Not familiar with her work but I don’t watch this show for anything other than campy fun. But I found NS horrible in the role so anything is a step up.

Oh this is GOOOOD! I may actually watch the show now…Elaine will be PERFECT for this role…I mean after Parent Trap, Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion and lest we forget Superstar…she can definitely play the beautiful, bitchy role well! Way to go to the production team….this is a WIN!!

She has the right look to be as believable that someone who looked like the fab Nicolette and then had surgery and looked liked the fab Gillies and had plastic surgery again would possible look like…

I remember seeing the movie 21 yrs ago and enjoyed it. But still 21 yrs ago. I had to look it up to remember who was in it and then I was like “oh yeah, I remember that”, lol.
And Meredith’s mother in the remake was the ORIGINAL gold-digging fiancé in the 1961 version of “The Parent Trap”, Vicky.
