TVLine Items: GH Exit Confirmed, Neighborhood Promotion and More
Jacqueline Grace Lopez’s run as General Hospital‘s Blaze came to an end on Aug. 13, after nearly two years in the role. “Not gonna lie, this goodbye hurts,” the actress shared on Instagram. “I think because I didn’t see it coming…. I’m definitely going to miss this bunch.”
In the episode, Blaze went on tour as Miguel Morez’s opening act after being dumped by Kristina.

* Season 2 of Sherwood, the BAFTA-nominated drama starring David Morrissey, Lesley Manville, Monica Dolan, David Harewood and Lorraine Ashbourne, will premiere on Britbox Thursday, Nov. 14 .
* The Neighborhood has upped Skye Townsend (aka Courtney) to series regular, Variety reports. Season 7 kicks off Monday, Oct. 21 at 8/7c, on CBS.
* Netflix has announced that The Circle Season 7 will premiere Wednesday, Sept. 11.
* Flip Side, a new game show hosted by Family Matters‘ Jaleel White, will premiere Monday, Sept. 9 in national syndication.
* Amanda Brooks (Super Pumped, Aquarius) will recur on Showtime’s Dexter: Original Sin prequel series as Becca, Miami Metro PD Captain Aaron Spencer’s (Patrick Dempsey) ex-wife, Deadline reports.
I’m kind of glad they wrote her out. The story with Kristina and the music career was just boring imo. This leaves the door open now for all kinds of possibilities for Kristina and Kate Mansi can kill it when she’s got good material to work with.
I have a feeling they’re going to have Kristina and TJ bond over the loss of ‘their’ daughter given that Molly is feeling very removed from it all.
The Circle Season 7 will premiere Wednesday, Sept. 11. Yes! More back to back filming and we could have a new season a quarter.
Well, Blaze is gone, but we’re stuck with her irritating mother. /eye roll
I was hoping they would write out Eva LaRue. She’s a great actress, but I do not like the character of Natalia.
I agree. She was great on AMC. Her character as Nathalia is boring.
They only keep her because she has a name in soap opera. 😔
I liked Blaze. With or without Kristina. Now what is Brooklyn.gonna do?? I can do without Natalia though…

CBS Media Ventures put out a press release saying it premieres in syndication September 9 and GSN September 16.
Sounds like they blindsided JGL which seems par for the course with this regime at GH lately. The writing has been awful so not sure why I’m surprised. But yet another wlw couple bites the dust. I really liked Blaze and Kristina together so I’m annoyed. There were also some rumors that the two actresses didn’t get along so well so that may have played a part in this too.
I think they blind-sided Michael Easton too.
One of the biggest problems at GH right now is that the producers/writers have their pets. For some reason they only want to write stories for certain characters. They have hired actors for roles that viewers hate and are determined to make them work when they don’t. They get rid of Blaze but keep her mother’s character around? I don’t think I’ve read one positive comment about the character of Natalia. Not one and yet today they forced a reason for her to stay in town and made other characters do an about face on liking her when they never did before. I guess Blaze didn’t work with Kate Mansi who now plays Kristina. We didn’t need a new Kristina to begin with. Many fan favorites aren’t getting screen time at all.
Blaze will have more family showing up soon. Her son! I hope he’s hot. 🔥 I do adore Eva LaRue but Natalia does grate. But she’s a homophobe so I think she’s supposed to.

Not surprised that Skye Townsend is promoted to The Neighborhood’s main cast, since she is playing Marty’s baby mama Courtney. Good for her nonetheless; she did really well in the role.
ZZZ… how many consecutive decades is CBS going to run beyond-bland sitcoms beyond their Use-By Date, only to have the master copies gather dust on studio vault shelves? ’90s had Dave’s World. The early-2000s had Yes, Dear. Then that spectacular, lame- vulgar early-2010s Two Broke Girls. Then the mid-2015s unleashed The Neighborhood. All these sitcoms BOMB in Top 100 TV markets local s5ation syndication & end up on pathetic shells of once-entertaining cable channels like TBS, airing 5 hour marathons…or worse: Some cable channel that came waaaay to late to the party, like BET HER (seriously… who knew BET had an all-female multiplex of the sad-sack Tyler Perry sitcoms?????). But I wish the cast & production team well.
I have been watching general hospital since I was a child I am not happy with letting go of blaze I think some of the story lines lately have been boring I hope they will bring blaze back

Jacqueline Lopez never made her character Blaze interesting. With a name like Blaze she should have sparkled with star power. I have nothing against the actress but it was not a good fit. I wish Natalia and Kristina had gone with her. The producers must really like Eva LaRue or her contract prevented her from exiting right now. It is interesting that Natalia is bigoted towards gay people but she has no problem associating with mob crime boss Sonny. Go figure!
