NCIS’ predecessor will at last be available to stream in its entirety.
Prime Video will host all 10 seasons of JAG beginning Monday, July 1. Whereas current rights holder Paramount+ only has select episodes, a source tells TVLine that Amazon has licensed the rights to every episode of the Navy drama — so, barring any operational delays, all 227 installments will be available to binge ahead of Independence Day.
One-and-done for NBC, the military procedural first launched in 1995 and found a new home on CBS the following year, where it would run for nine more seasons and spawn NCIS, which itself has generated five spinoffs (including NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: Hawai’i, NCIS: Sydney and the upcoming NCIS: Origins).
For the uninitiated: JAG followed judge advocates (aka uniformed lawyers) employed by the Department of the Navy’s Office of the Judge Advocate General. David James Elliot starred as Navy Captain Harmon Rabb Jr., while Catherine Bell, who joined the military procedural in Season 2, played Lieutenant Colonel Sarah “Mac” MacKenzie.
Fourteen years after JAG’s 2005 finale, Elliot and Bell reprised their roles as Harm and Mac for a three-episode arc on NCIS: L.A.
Will you be revisiting JAG once it is available to binge-watch on Prime Video? Let us know in Comments.

Yay! It was hard to watch on Paramount + with missing episodes.
i hate not watching things in order. I tried watching on paramount+, but gave up and bought the complete series on dvd
Awesome.
Well, that’s disappointing. I’ve been waiting and waiting for Paramount+ to finally get them all.
Not for us with Amazon
You forgot to mention season one’s Tracey Needham and Andrea Parker!!!!!!
Also, what happened to Tracey Needham? Haven’t seen her since Division and occasional Lifetime movies way back when.
I love this series. It remains one of my top all time favorite series along with Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman and Once Upon a Time. I own all 10 seasons of JAG on DVD, but it will still be nice to buy them digitally on Amazon if that is possible. I was in my late teens when JAG premiered in 1995 on NBC, and I was so happy when CBS fixed NBC’s mistake and resurrected the show. And based on the 9 seasons more of JAG plus NCIS and all its spinoffs, I think this was a very wise and lucrative decision.
Absolutely
Loved JAG! This is great news.
Yes, I am glad it is finally available to stream the entire 10 seasons.
Was a faithful fan of JAG and will be anxious to see if the holds up. Sometimes perception changes as your life changes. Hope I’m not disappointed!
My husband gifted me all seasons when DVDs were a thing. They do for the most part, occasionally there is some cringe but the stories are still engaging. The pilot is still excellent- how many pilots would go 45-minutes before introducing the main characters?
The box set has cast commentary for some the episodes. The best was an exchange between David (Harm) and Patrick (Bud) about the focus was all on will Harm/Mac ever get together and their various relationships but it was Bud/Harriet that got all the “action”.
I have been watching random reruns in hospital (they run in sequential order, 3-4 eps a day, 3x a day (the SAME 3-4 eps a day) and have found they are not nearly as procedural as their successor (NCIS et al) and was going to see if I could find a box set on gumtree for when I’m done with Hawaii 5-0 and Magnum PI (and and and and you know how it goes) so when these eventually filter to Australia I’ll at least see if they’re less annoying in order all in one go. (e.g I caught McGee’s actor in an episode, and I caught the whole episode in one 24 hour period – the start, the end, some of the middle, some of the middle, the start again, the end again etc.) My mum used to watch it but our local station stopped showing new episodes after s3 when I was finally deemed old enough to watch it… TV sure has changed, lol.
Now all I need is Rush with Rodger Corser!
Oh good Lord yes Been waiting for years to see the Brilliant Program once again I have all the 10 series Box sets but to see it again on TV is my greatest Pleasure
I finally bought the complete series on DVD for my dad this past Christmas because it wasn’t streaming in its entirety.
Why is it so hard to license every episode anyway? Peacock is the worst for that. Don’t even bother showing them with half missing. What’s the point?
Yes will watch even though I have some of the seasons on DVD still love to watch
I messed up by not watching JAG when it was originally on. Very glad all episodes are coming to Prime.
“David James Elliot starred as Navy Captain Harmon Rabb Jr., while Catherine Bell, who joined the military procedural in Season 2, played Lieutenant Colonel Sarah “Mac” MacKenzie.”
Harm wasn’t a Captain until the end. He started as a Lieutenant on NBC. Was a Lieutenant Commander then Commander for most of the run on CBS. I believe Mac started as a Major. She also didn’t make Colonel until the very end but was a Major and Lieutenant Colonel for the majority of her time starting on CBS.
About time!
I’ll watch it as much as I can. Love Harm and especially Mac!!
Now do Chain Beach!
In my opinion just skip season 1, it has nothing to do with the rest of the series. When I watched it I had no idea that the first season aired on NBC and was canceled, then the show was picked up for season 2 by CBS. The 1st season finale I was so confused, like wait, what? Just start with season 2.
I’m gonna binge watch the entire series from beginning to end. I wonder why it took so long for Amazon to get the series.
