Meet the pair who raised Young Sherlock: Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Natascha McElhone (Halo, Designated Survivor) will play the titular character’s father and mother, Silas and Cordelia, in Guy Ritchie’s Prime Video series adaptation, our sister site Deadline reports.

Starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin (who is Fiennes’ real-life nephew), Young Sherlock centers around “the 19-year-old, disgraced, raw, unfiltered, and unformed genius, when he finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University that threatens his freedom. Diving into his first-ever case with a wild lack of discipline, Sherlock manages to unravel a globe-trotting conspiracy that will change his life forever,” per Deadline.

Ritchie will direct the eight-episode series, which is inspired by Andrew Lane’s books, and executive-produce alongside Matthew Parkhill (Deep State), who will write and serve as showrunner.
