The NEURC has approved amendments to the Gas Storage Code that take into account the needs of energy companies and provide for a launch of new products that will create several advantages for the SSO in the European market. “We are in constant communication with both Ukrainian and non-resident energy companies and understand how to improve our storage services so that we can attract new customers and have even more advantages in the EU market,” said Roman Maliutin, CEO of Ukrtransgaz. The NEURC resolution should improve the conditions for the provision of storage services, namely: expand a list of periods for allocating gas storage capacities, provide a wider choice of products, including firm and conditionally firm capacity products for a period of less than 1 year, and optimize a process of interaction when booking capacities. From now on, the customers will be able to book firm capacity not only for a storage year, but also for any number of months during a storage year. In particular, taking into account European practices, customers get access to gas storages with a right to inject/store/withdraw the same volume of gas during a gas day for a corresponding period of capacity allocation. The changes were positively assessed by the Energy Community and received favorable feedback from the customers. Customers will be able to use the new services from June 1, 2024.

Working at one of our underground storages, where ground equipment was damaged as a result of an enemy attack on the energy infrastructure. Restoration works and measures to enhance the safety of our specialists and the UGS ground infrastructure are underway. The company's service branches are involved in the restoration works: Ukrgazprombud, Ukrgazenergoservice and TECHDIAGAZ. Thanks to the service branches, we can provide a full cycle of restoration works, starting from assessment of the equipment technical condition to construction, installation and commissioning works with minimal involvement of external organizations. This will allow us to complete the restoration works in a short time. We continue our regular operation and fulfil all obligations to our customers. Ukrtransgaz has sufficient reserve capacities to ensure an active season of gas injection/withdrawal into/from Ukraine’s UGS.

Ukraine's underground storages operate reliably even under conditions of shelling and transit termination Ukraine’s underground storages are able to reliably and efficiently provide gas storage services to foreign energy companies even under conditions of shelling and transit termination. Ukrtransgaz, a company of the Naftogaz of Ukraine, presented plans for an upcoming injection season, the advantages of Ukraine’s gas storages and a tariff policy for the next year.    This was discussed at the Shippers meeting, an annual joint meeting of Ukrtransgaz, the storage system operator, which is part of the Naftogaz Group, and Gas TSO of Ukraine with more than 50 representatives of foreign energy companies in Vienna, Austria. This year's Shippers meeting is supported by the Energy Community.   “The reliability of Ukraine’s UGS has been confirmed by both independent stress tests and real practice. We continue to fulfill all our obligations in good faith, proving the reliability of our specialists and infrastructure in practice. Moreover, we do not stop and are constantly developing. Security measures are permanently enhancing, and the personnel are being trained,” said Roman Maliutin, CEO of Ukrtransgaz.   Ukraine is planning changes to the Gas Storage Code that will significantly improve the work of companies working with Ukrtransgaz. The draft amendments have been positively assessed by the Energy Community.    We continue to work!

❗️Ukrtransgaz remains a reliable partner to foreign companies storing gas in Ukraine. According to the official information of the Air Defense Forces of Ukraine, 43 air targets were destroyed across the entire Ukrainian territory in the enemy attack on Sunday morning. 18 missiles and 25 strike drones. Although most of them were successfully taken down, few hit our facilities. No critical damage was caused. We are continuing to withdraw gas and accept nominations for capacity booking. Immediately after the strike we implemented the Emergency Response Plan. We temporarily halted gas withdrawal from this particular gas storage facility until the damage could be assessed. Meanwhile, we compensated for the limited withdrawal with reserves stored in other underground gas storage facilities. In the past day, we fully localized the consequences of the attack and commenced repairs. Due to reconstruction works, there will be an insignificant decrease in withdrawal capacities until the repairs are complete. Currently, the storage is offering a daily capacity of 73.8 mcm for booking, compared with the 78 mcm before the attack. We maintain sufficient reserves in both injection and withdrawal capacities. There will be no changes to the technical capacities for injection. We have ample resources — both equipment and personnel— to conduct restoration works, including through our service branches.

“The situation is “non-critical” and engineers are working to repair the ground infrastructure which was hit during the strikes”, – said Roman Maliutin, CEO of Ukrtransgaz.

During an enemy attack in Western Ukraine this morning, one of Ukrtransgaz's underground gas storage facilities' ground infrastructure was hit, resulting in damaged technological equipment. 👉 This will not affect the services provided by Ukraine's UGS facilities; there are no critical consequences. Naftogaz Group CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov emphasized this during his visit to the impact site on March 24. 💬 "Service nominations, including storage and capacity bookings, are being fulfilled as planned," reported Oleksiy Chernyshov. Currently, efforts to localize and eliminate the consequences are ongoing according to the Emergency Response Plan. 💬 "The situation will not critically impact the UGS operations since the gas is stored deep underground. The damaged surface infrastructure will need repairs, however we have sufficient backup capacities in place to mitigate any immediate impacts," added Naftogaz Group CEO. More: cutt.ly/Uw9RUA9L
