Now is the time to have that conversation you have been putting off for a while. Use this school holiday as an opportunity to bond with your children. The goal of the conversation should aim at creating a safe space for children to express themselves. Sexual abuse is a risk for every child. Children have been home for school holidays for a few days now and we have already responded to 3 cases including aggravated defilement and Rape. There is no infallible way to protect children but it doesn't mean you can't try. Here are a few tips. 🔸️Listen actively; pay attention to what your children say and take their concerns seriously. 🔸️Teach them about body changes and body safety early. 🔸️Teach them about body boundaries. 🔸️Encourage dialogue. 🔸️Know the resources in your community that can offer support. It is everyone's responsibility to protect children! Create safer environments for children. #projectjustice #protectchildrenfromabuse

Sexual and Reproductive Health is closely linked to women's rights and has far more reaching implications for individuals and communities. Despite it being a fundamental human right, Adolescent girls and young mothers face a unique set of challenges when accessing SRH services. These challenges range from Health care system barriers, societal and cultural barriers, economic barriers and more.Addressing this means investing in SRH education and services, social support systems, infrastructure and economic empowerment. We are partnering with Local health facilities to bring services closer to AGYW in safe spaces through community health outreach where they get access to services such as comprehensive SRH education, Cervical and Breast cancer screening,HIV testing, counseling and referrals, family planning methods and more. It is essential to empower AGYW with information and access to services to improve their overall well-being. #SRH #safespaces #Busika #Luwero #Uganda
