Constitutional mismatch. Since its promulgation in 1995, the constitution has been undermined as the safeguards against human rights violations and bad governance have been eroded . The constitution isn't self-enforcing; it’s our duty as citizens to defend and uphold it !

Over the weekend, I trained a group of student leaders at Nansana Secondary School about their rights during a human rights education session organised by Lex Amica with support from the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR). This is the second, in a series of human rights education sessions that Lex Amica is implementing in schools. The students left this session empowered with knowledge not only about their rights but also about how they can become human rights defenders in their school and communities.
Over the weekend, Lex Amica carried out a human rights awareness session in partnership with the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) in a bid to create awareness on human rights and children’s rights for the students of Nansana secondary school. The session was indeed informative for both parties. The session focused on the origin of human rights , how the constitution of Uganda guarantees human and children’s rights and the various rights that are provided for both domestically and internationally as well as how they can be protected and enforced. #Empowering_futures
