Kinematic magic! 🪄 TCP stays in place. Hypnotizing. The KUKA robot now has two more axes. The TCP point remains still & fixed regardless of the complicated trajectories and movements of the robot. An amazing demonstration by Mutz Maschinenbau of how important TCP calibration is. You must admit that a black arm from KUKA is for special duties! 😮💨 P.S. What do you think this application is all about? Any ideas? ~~~ ♻️ Repost to help 1 robot find a new workplace. 📬 Subscribe to my newsletter: https://lnkd.in/dzVGBKSc 💬 Follow my Twitter: https://lnkd.in/dSenRzYr 👾 Join my Discord: https://lnkd.in/dJJiWwBd

This drone is designed to split in two mid-flight Researchers from City University of Hong Kong have developed a transformable quadcopter made up of two bicopters, each with just two propellers. Despite differences in flight modes, both the bicopter and quadcopter configurations are controlled using a unified framework. In experiments, an undocking mechanism with preloaded elastic energy helps the "SplitFlyer Air" disassemble in mid-air. This catapult-like mechanism allows the bicopters to stabilize and hover without losing altitude. The successful mid-air disassembly shows potential for search and rescue missions or drone swarming, with potential to increase the number of drones in a single formation 💡 #drones #robotics #searchandrescue

A breakthrough in flying complex drone swarms 💡 Unlike traditional methods that simplify the problem, often failing in complex environments, a new approach, developed by researchers from the University of Toronto, keeps the full constraints intact by using a polar coordinate system and an Alternating Minimization algorithm. The method significantly outperforms existing ones, with a 72% higher success rate, 36% faster mission completion, and 42 times quicker path calculations per drone. It also handles additional safety measures efficiently, proving 31 times faster and 44% more efficient than a leading solver, ACADO. #drones #robotics #autonomy

𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 & 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗗𝗔𝗥 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 ✔️ I get these questions quite often. Should we buy a handheld scanner instead of TLS? It looks like a foolproof tool to just hold by anybody and scan everything. The answer is YEANO 😆. 1. The relative accuracy of your dataset (seen in this video) can be under a few centimeters, so for many scan-to-bim jobs, it is perfectly fine. 2. For smaller projects up to several hundreds of square meters, it can be "easy to use" 3. You need serious skills in survey control, registration workflows, and scan management though, to do large-scale projects of tens of thousands of square meters. So is mobile scanning a future of reality capturing? For many industries YES. But be careful and discuss with experienced people, whether your projects are a good fit with LiDAR scanners. A very nice piece of equipment I am using for LiDAR scanning is a 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝟭 from FJDynamics #3d #Laserscanning #Lidar #Technology #Innovation #slam #survey #realitycapture

Packing products with class: how to do it? 🎹 That's why we all love creative machine builders. For them there is no limits in building! Innovative product packaging by Douglas Machine Inc.! With these robots, items can be arranged neatly and attractively either standing up or lying flat in the case. Their flexible design allows them to accommodate a variety of products and layouts while changing packing styles quickly. All the products are handled with robot arms, from getting to loading them into cases. Thoughts? ~~~ ♻️ Repost to help 1 robot find a new workplace. 👾 Join the Robotics Community: https://lnkd.in/dJJiWwBd 📬 Subscribe to my newsletter to never confuse a robot and a cobot: https://lnkd.in/duvv-fiA

In the easternmost part of the Spanish archipelago, near the northern coast of Africa and the Sahara desert, lies Lanzarote. This island, formed from volcanic eruptions 15 million years ago, is covered in solidified lava flows, volcanic rocks, and black sand. It receives minimal rainfall, about 16 days a year, and temperatures on its black plains can reach up to 50°C (120°F). Despite these harsh conditions, Lanzarote produces 400,000 to 600,000 bottles of wine annually. The island's winemakers, considered some of the hardest working in the world, developed innovative cultivation techniques in the 18th century. The last eruption of the Timanfaya Volcano in 1730, which lasted six years, forced many residents to emigrate. However, those who stayed discovered that the volcanic soil, known as picón, was excellent at retaining moisture, making it possible to grow crops. Lanzarote is unique for its method of dry cultivation using volcanic soil, a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of its farmers. Via National Geographic Nature
