💬 “I love the idea of climate training - but will need to convince the team of the ROI” 💬 ”This could be a game changer - but will need help to building the business case” 💬 ”My team desperately need training on these topics - but it’s hard to think about the measurable outcomes” ^^ We heard you! At AimHi Earth, we’re experts at making the complex simple, and inspiring and activating huge teams, at speed… But more than that, we have a track record of supporting organisations with… 1️⃣ Transforming employee motivation, empowerment and alignment (85% of the employees who were previously planning to quit report feeling significantly more motivated about their current role) 2️⃣ Embedding lasting behavioural and mindset change (92% of learners make changes in their life due to the things they’ve learnt) 3️⃣ Cutting employee-related scope 3 emissions by half (51% reduction) 4️⃣ Scoring higher with B Lab, EcoVadis and more... Huge shout out to Matthew J Shribman (MChem Oxon) and María Sánchez Poncela for their work compiling this brand new report by AimHi Earth, illustrating the opportunity, urgency and impact of our training programmes. Check it out if you’re interested in digging into data collected from numerous companies.

“We will never have more choices than we do today” LOVED this urgent dialogue described by Courtney Holm in my latest podcast episode about her work transforming leadership mindsets! Key learnings: 1️⃣ Every climate conversation is a negotiation. 2️⃣ You can’t go into these conversations, looking to change people’s minds, if you don’t understand where they are on their journey. You have to start by understanding what matters to them. 3️⃣ ”Commercialising the science” - a key part of making the business case for sustainability. 4️⃣ Build trust: make sure they know that you know what your stuff is. Be… Emotive. Imaginative. Honest. Transparent. Consistent. Authentic. Vulnerable. Flexible. (This advice feels especially relevant after reading EdenLab’s latest report that shows that the number 1 activity dominating the typical workweeks of sustainability leaders is “influencing others to take action”.) I’ve listened back to this episode and it almost feels like a fantastic coaching session for any sustainability professional looking to drive change in sustainability - wish I had this at the start of my journey in this space! 🌱✨ Listen to the episode via the link in the comments. And if anyone has any other resources about building and developing negotiation skills please do share them below!!

“What do you want to be known for? What do you want your legacy to be?” - A thought provoking question to leadership from Courtney Holm in the latest episode of Aiming High with AimHi Earth. As I mention in the intro - Courtney is one of my role models in the sustainability space! Recognised as one of Europe’s top ten women in Sustainability by Sustainability Magazine and a Top 25 Sustainability Leader according to The Consulting Report, in this episode, Courtney shares advice on driving systemic change as a sustainability practitioner. Tune in to hear us talking about… 💥 Supporting companies in moving beyond reporting towards actually implementing impactful change 🏆 Leadership legacy, and emotive and creative approaches to challenging conversations with executive teams 💼 Commercialising the Science and building trust through authenticity, consistency and flexibility … and more! I’m really proud of this episode as well as really grateful for the compassionate advice, and concrete case studies that Courtney brought to the conversation. Next up in two weeks: a convo with Andy Brown from Anglian Water Services about instilling nature as a stakeholder within businesses and emotional resilience and wellbeing in the sustainability sector. Exciting stuff! Link to the podcast below 👇 👇 👇

Thank you Honey Jane Wyatt at HR magazine for inviting me to comment on AimHi Earth’s new report demonstrating the urgent need for and opportunity of climate and sustainability training. With 78% of employees lacking confidence in communicating about their organisation’s sustainability strategy, instilling a foundational understanding of key climate concepts and a shared language to talk about it across a company is a key first step. This will ground employees with the key principles needed to make good decisions, ask powerful questions, and apply their learnings into their own roles. Don’t believe me? The proof is in the pudding! 🍮 We found that 96% of employees report feeling more confident in talking about the climate and nature crisis after AimHi Earth’s live and interactive training. I’m also encouraged to see this coverage by an outlet focusing on HR. Recognising that climate and sustainability training is not only essential for any business determined to succeed in its sustainability strategy - but also vital for those keen to attract and retain talent, invest in their colleagues and lead by example in terms of people and culture. Love to see it! I’ll pop a link to our report and to the article in the comments. Whether people learn and act today will shape the world we live in tomorrow. Follow me to reflect together about how we can empower individuals & organisations to transform our economy and society to one of sustainability and regeneration 🌿

Only 7% of workers understand how their company’s sustainability strategy applies to their job 🤦♀️ …..eye opening stats from AimHi Earth’s new report based on data from 1,727 professionals before carrying out training sessions. The urgent need for climate and sustainability training has never been more evident. An organisation can have the most comprehensive sustainability roadmap in the world - but if only 7% of workers understand how to put this into practice, how can we hope to hit the targets or achieve our goals? For company-wide sustainability transformations to succeed, businesses urgently need an activated and green-skilled workforce, rallying behind their roadmap and empowered to play their part in ensuring their sustainability strategy is a success. The solution? As Sue Husband OBE from Business in the Community comments in this article covering our report in People Management magazine - businesses need to educate all employees on the importance of their role in helping to transition towards a net-zero, resilient future. Live, interactive, energising training, like ours at AimHi Earth, is designed precisely to turn this around. Check out the article and the report itself below. Well, the word has spread faster than I thought it would! 😳😳😳 A bit late to the party, but feeling humbled, excited and incredibly proud to share that AimHi Earth has raised £1mn on our mission to activate 100m nature-first employees. Excited, not because of our first fundraise, but because of the opportunity given to accelerate on our journey. Today more than ever, we remain convinced that for large organisations, there will be no successful sustainability roadmap without a bold and innovative employee engagement and upskilling plan - and that’s exactly what we support our clients (the likes of PepsiCo, Pepsi Lipton, Capgemini, Molson Coors Beverage Company... ) in achieving. As Matt puts it "Knowledge is the foundation of progress. That’s why we’re on a mission to train and upskill hundreds of millions of professionals, to champion and enable circularity, sustainability and operating within planetary boundaries.” A big thank to my two co-founders Bella Soares and Matthew J Shribman (MChem Oxon), the entire AHE team and everyone who has supported us on this journey so far! 🕊

AIMING HIGH - EPISODE THREE WHEREVER YOU FIND YOUR PODCASTS 🐘🐘🐘 “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time... (ESG) can genuinely be over-facing... my approach was literally step by step" Always such a pleasure to chat to Mills & Reeve's Head of ESG & Social Value, Neil Pearson about the challenge of embedding sustainability as a fundamental consideration across every aspect of a business. We talked about the importance of getting things done, about the ROI of sustainability and about key ESG questions that can be asked when making operational and spending decisions in any department. Loved it. In particular, I really appreciated that Neil was able to share several real life examples of making this happen within a business context - from installing a new chiller on the roof to rethinking resources needed by litigation teams to adding an additional 'box' to recruitment paperwork. 🍽 Thanks for breaking down what could be an overwhelming topic into bitesize chunks! Ideal for sustainability professionals looking for concrete advice about integrating sustainability and ESG into decision-making process internally. Link to the episode in comments 👇
