⚡️ Our CEO, Nick Proctor, sat down with Dan Cherry, CEO of Glamorgan Cricket, to discuss how we helped them navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 energy spikes. By locking in a fixed price for three years, Glamorgan were able to secure stability during a volatile time. This partnership not only saved them money but also provided them with confidence they needed to focus on their core business. At Amber, we're proud to support businesses like Glamorgan with strategic energy solutions that make a real difference.

We recently caught up with our new Director of Technology, Andrew Thomas, to talk all things Amber, as well as his highlights so far, and what he gets up to outside of his role in our Digital Enablement Team 🖥️ 💪 We've included a snippet of our chat below, but it you'd like to read the whole thing check out the link 👇 What does a typical day for you look like in the Digital Enablement Team? My day usually starts with a quick review of emails and Teams. It’s quiet first thing in the morning, so it’s a good time to handle any immediate tasks or follow-ups before diving into the main work of the day. Next up is our daily stand-up. We go over what everyone’s working on, discuss any challenges, and make sure we’re aligned on our fortnightly goal. It’s a brief but important touchpoint that keeps everyone on track. The rest of my day is pretty varied. It might include meetings to discuss our roadmap, planning sessions, or working closely with colleagues on proof-of-concept projects, particularly those involving AWS. Overall, my focus is on ensuring we’re moving forward efficiently and effectively, with an eye on both our immediate goals and long-term strategy. What's the highlight of your time at Amber so far? The highlight of my time at Amber has definitely been the people. Despite the technical challenges and ongoing changes in our key systems, what stands out is how engaged and committed everyone is. Even when we’re facing issues, the team comes together, fully invested in finding solutions and pushing forward. It’s inspiring to work with such a dedicated group, where everyone is genuinely focused on making things better. Our Digital Enablement Team is currently looking for two new team members. If you’d like to join Andy, and the rest of DE you can check out the vacancies on our careers site 🔗 (careers.amber.net)
