  • The English country house is often its own character in films 🏰 The 127-room privately owned manor used in 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯 is a perfect example of this. Originally built around the 1300s, the house has undergone several transformations, including one in the 1700s when it was refurbished with an ornate Baroque façade. This shows not only how pop culture can help revitalise a building's history but also how merging the past and present of a building can be so significant. • '𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲' 🙌 Hope Street, a women's rehabilitation centre, has won the RIBA 2024 MacEwen Award. They aim to provide a safe home and a place that rehabilitates women who are likely to have suffered trauma. Buildings everywhere have more value than just their looks, and we believe using them to help people is the best thing to do. • Liverpool's Three Graces are a beautiful sight to see 🤩 The Liver Building, Cunard Building, and the Port of Liverpool Building showcase part of Liverpool's history. The Liver Building was initially built for the Royal Liver Assurance Group, a company founded to support families who have lost a wage earner. Alongside, the Cunard Building was the headquarters of Cunard Cruise Line, a major employer in the days when Liverpool was a hub for trans-Atlantic sailings. • The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is one of the oldest concert societies in the world 🎵 Designed in 1844, the building is a permanent residence of the Liverpool Philharmonic Society, founded in 1840. The art-deco-style building suffered a fire in the late 1930s, which meant that it could not be reopened until 1939. Recently, it has undergone some modern renovation, keeping some of its original charm to pay homage to the origins of the society. • Liverpool's Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King is a building of its time 🙌 Built in the 1960s, this cathedral was built to meet the needs of the city's growing Catholic population. Like many in Liverpool, this building shows the city's rich history and journey from then to now, our present. We want to reinvigorate more buildings throughout the city, and showcase their history merged with our present. Find out how here: https://lnkd.in/e6Pdcke2

  • Liverpool's Town Hall is a perfect example of the rich historical architecture the city has 🙌 Constructed in the 1750s, the building holds on to the decadence and prosperity of the era and brings together the past and present beautifully. At Aries Property Group, we want to keep doing this throughout Liverpool, highlighting the city's history. Find out more about our work here: https://lnkd.in/e6Pdcke2
