WOW! 😊 Incredibly humbled and honoured to be recognised and shortlisted in today’s European Diversity Awards announcement in Financial Times amongst a brilliant set of leaders and organisations championing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion across Europe. Congratulations to all the finalists. In a time marked by increasing societal divide, the importance of ED&I in the workplace has never been more critical. For many years, I have made it my mission to use my own experiences supporting businesses and charitable organisations (such as Miss Macaroon) so that others from marginalised communities can be heard. 👉 Investing in ED&I is not just a moral imperative but a strategic necessity. 👉 It is not about who fits into the culture but who is missing in the culture. 👉 Diversity, equity, and inclusion is insufficient without belonging. It is much more than a data point. 👉 Diversity can mean many things but for me it is standing up for myself. At BDO UK LLP, we are committed to building a workplace where diversity thrives, and inclusion is a priority. Our dedicated pillar around our Be Yourself strategy ensures investment in this critical area will never take a backseat. As Network Lead for CEDAR in my third year, which focuses on increasing representation from staff amongst ethnically diverse communities, I am very proud of our ongoing drive, seeking new initiatives and tailored training programmes launching this year.
