Body Dysmorphic Disorder is a serious and distinct mental health condition characterized by compulsive thoughts and behaviors related to perceived flaws in one or more parts of your body and face. These are often not visible to other people. If you are struggling with BDD or you think you might be, we urge you to open up about your struggles to a friend, family member or someone with lived experience. We promise you are not alone and you deserve help. You can find some amazing resources on the The BDD Foundation website including their two minute Body Dysmorphia Test. Supporting a sibling with an eating disorder is a really challenging experience. Often, the support available for loved ones supporting someone with an eating disorder is tailored for parents and caregivers and the important role of a sibling is overlooked.
