I can't believe how quickly time has flown by! Yesterday, we had our final workshop with BiteLabs Healthtech, where we discussed Medical Content Creation, Networking, and Pitching with an incredible group of women: 🔹 Claudia Pastides (Director of Medical Accuracy at FloHealth) 🔹 Lucy Marples (Clinical Specialist at Google) 🔹 Tahseen Tayob (Senior Innovation Manager at Imperial College Health Partners) A special thank you to Lucy and Tahseen for pushing me out of my comfort zone to improvise a personal elevator pitch. The embarrassment was totally worth it, especially with all the invaluable feedback I received! But I just had to illustrate Claudia.  A few months ago, I cold-DM’d her on LinkedIn to ask for feedback on an application I sent to Flo, and she went out of her way to help me. She provided detailed information, offered advice, and patiently answered all of my questions about transitioning to Healthtech. At a time when every door seemed closed, she gave me the energy and encouragement to keep trying. 💛 Yesterday, she taught us how to ensure high-quality medical content. One of the key takeaways she shared was: 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 It's incredible to hear about the complexity behind creating accurate medical content.  It's a simple yet powerful reminder that, in an age of widespread misinformation, verifying the accuracy of what we consume online is more important than ever. What do you think?

Another fascinating day at BiteLabs Healthtech and Innovation Fellowship with yesterday’s workshop on Regulatory and Compliance! We were wonderfully hosted by: 🔹 Jonathan Andrews (Chief Medical Officer at Certific) 🔹Dr Rhydian Harris (Product Manager, Ex-Pando, Ex-Numan, and MBA Candidate at LBS) Today, I wanted to share a question Rhydian asked us to consider as a practical example: '𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳, 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲?' This question is crucial in navigating regulatory pathways, as the classification of a product as a medical device carries significant legal and compliance responsibilities. Misidentifying your project could lead to regulatory setbacks or even penalties. However, defining your product in a way that it is not considered a medical device can be a game-changer, allowing you to avoid unnecessary paperwork while staying within the margins of the law. We often complicate processes, but sometimes, less is more, isn't it? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Fantastic strides at BiteLabs Healthtech Healthcare Technology and Innovation Fellowship with yesterday’s Week 4 workshop on "Product Commercialisation"! A big thank you to our workshop leaders for their insights and for guiding us through the complexities of bringing innovative products to market: 🔹 Molly Gilmartin (Healthtech Investor at AlbionVC)   🔹 Sam Ajami (Strategic Partnerships Manager at Symbe)  I wanted to comment on a particularly powerful insight from Molly Gilmartin: "𝗕𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁." It’s not just about whether your new product is useful or can change people’s lives. Is it needed or is it a “nice-to-have”? Does it truly replace the old product? Are you genuinely innovating or just adding another layer to the existing structure? Reflecting on this, it’s clear that authenticity in the value proposition is crucial. How do you ensure that your innovation isn’t just a new coat of paint but a true leap forward? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Can’t believe we are halfway through BiteLabs Healthtech's Healthcare Technology and Innovation Fellowship! Today we enjoyed a Mid-point Breakfast with: 🔹 Thomas Cooke (Account Director at Quiddity Health, NHS Partnerships Lead) who gave as an revealing workshop on business models, commercialisation, and NHS funding cycles. 🔹 Sneh Khemka (Executive Director at NEOM and Venture Partner at Archimed Health) as the keynote speaker, who shared his incredible career journey with us and gave us invaluable advice. 🔹 Rhydian Harris (Ex-Product at Numan, Pando, and MBA Candidate at LBS)  who led the event and the fireside discussion, asking insightful questions. I was particularly impressed by something Sneh said: "𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 '𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁' " In a professional world that can sometimes make us feel small, shifting our mindset to focus on our own capabilities is incredibly powerful. Let your self-confidence guide you rather than dwelling on feelings of inadequacy. Can you do the job? If the answer is yes, then go for it! Embrace the challenge with conviction, whispering to yourself: ‘I can totally do that! What’s your approach to tackling new challenges? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Two posts in a row! What can I say? Yesterday was an intense day at BiteLabs Healthtech's Healthcare Technology and Innovation Fellowship! In the evening, we had a fascinating workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Healthtech. We had the pleasure of having: 🔹 Keith Grimes (Digital Health Consultant at Curistica, former Principal Product Manager for AI at Babylon) 🔹 Annabelle Painter (Medical Director at Visiba Care and Clinical AI Fellow) Special thanks to Keith, who stayed an hour longer to share his recommendations on prompt engineering 🤗. I wanted to share his interpretation of Tesler’s Theorem, ‘The AI Effect,’ in relation to medicine: ‘𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗲𝘁.’ We live in an era of technological advancement and a shortage of healthcare professionals. It’s inevitable that AI and technology will try to fill this gap. The question is: if technology can outperform doctors, what is their role? Medicine is becoming that unique thing that machines are not able to do, such as human connection. At least for the time being. What are your thoughts? I would love to know!
