On the #InternationalDayOfCharity, we're sending a big thank you to all of our fellow charities who help us to reach families with books and support. In North East England, we've teamed up with the Children's Foundation to support its fantastic Baby Box project, which delivers essential items to get families started with baby care, as well as developmentally stimulating toys and books. Our #Bookstart Toddler packs have been given to more than 500 families in the area after being included in the boxes. And health visitors have seen first-hand what a difference this makes, with Specialist Health Visitor Becky Humphreys saying: "The BookTrust books are of an amazing quality. Having something to engage a family with reading can massively help." One of our top priorities is to support children aged 0-5 whose families may need more help to make shared reading a regular part of their lives in the early years. #Bookstart Toddler and Pre-schooler have been designed to support families of children aged 1-4 from lower income backgrounds to share stories together.
