It was a busy sporting weekend here in the Duchy, as we had the pleasure of attending events on both Saturday and Sunday with our local sports club partners. Saturday saw us back at Truro Sports Centre for Truro City Football Club’s fixture against Eastbourne Borough Football Club. Despite a narrow 0-1 loss, Truro dominated the game, delivering a strong performance that lacked only a goal to secure a well-deserved point. A big thank you to Philip Lawrence from Argos Fire Protection Ltd, the match sponsors, for his support - it really is great to see so many local businesses supporting the club in their return home. And, of course, a special mention to "The Model" Darren Buckley, who proudly showcased a one-of-a-kind Truro City umbrella. On Sunday, we headed to a rainy Penzance Leisure Centre for a men’s hockey tournament. This time, it was Craig Harrison representing us, showing off our advertising board while enjoying a successful morning of pre-season hockey, with Penzance winning both of their matches. We wish both clubs continued success as their respective seasons unfold and look forward to seeing our partnerships grow in the months ahead. #Localsport #wearethecity #cornwall

We’ve been out at the beautiful The Headland Cornwall in Newquay for the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce connected lunch. It was great to hear from James Neale of Idenna Creative on how to differentiate content needs for your campaign and also 💫 Clive Kessell 💫 who was sharing news about the current Cornwall 500 charity push being undertaken. What an incredible experience it was to finally witness some live football with Truro City Football Club on Saturday! After months of eager anticipation and watching the new stadium rise from the ground, stepping inside and catching a game there was nothing short of magical. Even with the classic Cornwall weather in August (😂), over 2,600 passionate fans filled the stands, creating an electric atmosphere. The team fought valiantly against tough opposition, narrowly missing out on a result against one of the division’s top sides. The energy, the heart, the grit—our boys left it all on the pitch. It was fantastic to catch up with so many friends, all united in our love for the club. Now, we're counting down the days to the next home game on the 24th of August against Enfield, where we’re hoping for that elusive 1st home win. Huge congratulations to everyone involved in getting this journey started. We’re all in, and we can't wait to watch this club soar to new heights!
