About us
In 2014, Ryan Panchoo proudly introduced his signature doughnut recipe he created for his children. He wanted a treat that was first of all safe, would appeal to his kids and their friends but that didn't taste disappointing. Fast forward 10 years later and the mission is the same, the creation of safe, inclusive treats that do not compromise on taste in any way. Borough 22 stands by these 3 pillars and have truly created a doughnut for all. But don't just take our word for it. Winner of the Free From Product of the Year 2023 as well as 3 golds, Great Taste awarded and with Ryan himself scooping Pastry Chef of the Year at the Be Inclusive Hospitality Awards its a true testament to the amazing product that we produce. Beyond proud to be nominated as a finalist in the The Black British Business Awards 2024! A real pinch me moment looking at the list of finalists, partners and sponsors for the awards. Above all of this though my nomination was submitted anonymously. This year's theme, #NEXT, celebrates a new wave of talent – recognising rising stars and Senior Leaders ready to become the next generation of talent and paving the way respectively. The finalist judging took place last month in front of a panel at the beautiful Oliver Wyman offices in central London. It was nerve wracking but offered a chance to tell my story to a new audience, something I will never tire of doing. The only regret was not bringing Borough 22 Doughnuts with me but that may have been considered a considerable bribe, lol. A massive congratulations to all the finalists especially Geoffrey O. W. And Rene Moshi Macdonald in my category. Whatever happens we celebrate excellence, tenacity, drive, commitment and extraordinary talent at the Awards on October 11th at Hilton ParkLane and I for one and looking forward to doing that with CHEST! I have been running Borough 22 Doughnuts for 10 years! It was set up because I wanted to create a treat for my children who had multiple allergies and I wanted something that would be exciting to for them to eat, but also something that their friends and families would be excited to eat.
