Are consumers finally waking up to the power of organic? This report in The Grocer last week outlined the ‘Clarkson Farm’ effect that Ocado is seeing on sales of British pork and lion’s mane mushrooms.  They have also attributed the TV programme with driving a 77% increase in searches for ‘British produce’.   If Ocado’s sales are anything to go by then it’s clear that Clarkson’s pro-British farmer message is getting through to consumers.  By highlighting the harsh realities British farmers face, the programme has been able to mobilise consumers to make different choices around where their food comes from. Interestingly, Ocado have “also linked the programme’s focus on regenerative and sustainable farming practices to a steep rise in sales of organic produce” and, here at Borough Broth | B Corp™, we couldn’t be more thrilled.  Rosamund Heathcote, founder and MD: “We have always been proudly organic and proudly British.  Our incredible farmers are the heart and soul of Borough Broth. What fun! Today was a ⭐️ Borough Broth | B Corp™ Lunchtime Takeover ⭐️ at Waitrose & Partners HQ. The incredible chefs took our range of broths and developed an exceptional menu for lunchtime today in celebration of B Corp Month. For starter: Our Organic Chicken Pho Broth with noodles, bean sprouts, and pak choi For main course: Lamb Shank, creamy mash, tender stem broccoli and our Organic Lamb Bone Broth Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie with gravy made with our Organic Chicken Bone Broth Sophie Curtis ACIM and I served cups of broth along side the menu and it was so pleasing to see lots of happy faces and clean plates, bowls and cups! 😊 Hats off to Danny and the chefs for bringing our broth to life, and for being so enthusiastic about our products. Nothing better than hearing “your products are second to none” from Chefs that cater to 500 foodies every day! 🤩

I’m super pleased that Grace Regan founder of Spicebox will be joining our ranks and leading our new sister brand into its next big journey of retail. ‘𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺!’ Last Wednesday, we were honoured to take part in the BUY WOMEN BUILT #strongertogether campaign with Whole Foods Market alongside a crew of absolute power houses 💪 This amazing movement was created to encourage consumer awareness as well as shine a light on female founders across the UK. And as a female owned business ourselves, this is something we’re of course incredibly passionate about. We’re so excited to be a part of this inspiring campaign and sit alongside our fellow female entrepreneurs, who like our founder Ros, have also grown flourishing businesses in an economy which so often can be challenging for female entrepreneurs to thrive in. As Sahar Hashemi OBE (founder of Buy Women Built) has highlighted, the purpose of the campaign is to provide a powerful message to consumers: “Consumers don’t realise how many of the brands they know and already buy in Whole Foods Market are actually female founded.” “There’s no better time than #IWD to inspire female entrepreneurs by showing and celebrating the women behind some of the biggest, powerhouse businesses in the UK available in amazing retailers like Whole Foods Market.” Haven’t seen it yet? The display will be live until the 2nd April and during that time you’ll be able to easily identify all 55 women owned brands that are stocked by Whole Foods by looking for the identifiable #BWB shelf stickers throughout their seven stores.

When BUY WOMEN BUILT founder Sahar Hashemi came across this tweet it sparked an idea. Sahar thought: ‘If consumers were more easily able to see if a product was made by a woman, would they be more likely to buy them?’. Bone broth is a fast-growing category with a LOT of attention at the moment. There are challengers and imitators everywhere. BUT great broth takes time to make and, whilst it might be ok for others to take short cuts, we’re all about the time-honoured slow cook. Our studies show, the longer you cook the bones for, the more nutrition and collagen you extract - so why would you want to compromise? Across a number of different creative iterations, we’re raising awareness of Borough Broth | B Corp™ and the benefits of slow-cooked, all under-pinned by the same lock up: 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿. Sh*t feels pretty real when you see the little business you dreamt up a few years ago advertising on old street roundabout. 🤩 11 years ago I had my phone snatched on this very site. I was living in a tiny flat in east London with 2 girlfriends working in IT, unfulfilled wondering what on earth I was going to do with myself. Couldn’t have ever imagined a few days after my 40th birthday I’d be here, looking at this. Borough Broth | B Corp™ in lights! What a trip! Thanks to the epic teamwork from Heidi C.
