We’re proud to mark International Women in Engineering Day 2024! 🥳🤝   Now in its 11th year, #INWED is a celebration of the work done by women engineers across the globe.   This years theme is #EnhancedByEngineering, so we asked some of our colleagues to share their thoughts on the importance of female representation in engineering and the impact it’s had on the industry. Big news from Brazil! 🇧🇷 We're set to take full ownership of bp Bunge Bioenergia, one of the country’s top biofuels producers. We currently own 50%, and this deal (pending regulatory approval) will make us the sole owner. Today the business has the capacity to produce up to 50,000 barrels of ethanol equivalent per day from sugarcane. #Biofuels like sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF) and renewable diesel (HVO) can help to decarbonize transport. 🚗✈️    Acquiring the business in full will boost our biofuel production volumes significantly, contributing towards our 2025 financial target for our bioenergy business. After a journey of over 12,000 nautical miles from China, our Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel has finally arrived safely at its final location #Offshore Mauritania and Senegal. 🚢 This vessel is a key part of the exciting Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) development, the deepest #Subsea infrastructure in Africa. Once fully operational, it is planned to produce around 2.3 million tonnes of #LNG annually for over 20 years and has the potential to create a new LNG production hub in Africa. The Azeri Central East (ACE) platform, our latest and most technologically advanced platform in the Caspian, has come online. Located off the coast of Baku, Azerbaijan, the platform is part of our effort to help secure vital #Energy supplies for the region and Europe – and grow value for bp, too. It’s the latest piece in the maturing Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field, which means we can continue to make the most of the basin. It’s also one of our most technologically and digitally advanced platforms to date, allowing us to manage safety risks, reduce emissions and raise efficiency – all through the power of #Digital.
