    Marketing Executive at Waterside Holiday Group

    Let 2 Help Offset Our newest finance option at Waterside launched this season and I’ve had the pleasure of working on the campaign for it (particularly the print and out of home elements which I love!). Following the brief from the sales team, we worked with our branding and design agency Bright Blue Day Ltd to bring the vision to life, highlighting to viewers the concept of ‘Let 2 Help Offset’ and how this can make a purchase of a unit with us accessible and affordable by offsetting the owners’ running costs. The campaign was then rolled out across bus stop advertising in Looe, Cornwall, bus ads and billboards in Plymouth and for Leigh Rice's brief of ‘I want Let 2 Help Offset everywhere, on park, LOUD AND PROUD!’ I worked with our graphic designer Lou Mason to make sure it is shouted about!! Flyers, stormboards, window graphics, table talkers, on park signage, ceiling hangers, you name it, we did it. I loved working on this design project and learning how various elements of graphic design come together to deliver different messages. Bring on the next! #Marketing #Campaign #GraphicDesign

Whether it’s through thoughtful preparation, encouraging input, or providing practice opportunities. Here’s how we’re championing diverse voices in our agency: 📋 We circulate agendas ahead of time, giving everyone a chance to prepare and contribute. 📝 We offer options for written feedback, so all ideas can be shared comfortably. 🔎 We use smaller group settings to ensure every voice is heard, irrespective of seniority. 🎙️ We create practice spaces for junior team members to develop their confidence and skills. 🗣️ We host regular knowledge kitchens to encourage everyone to feel at ease in front of crowds, while talking about one of their passions.     A close friend/client once described me as... "she doesn't do the fluff". It's something I often feel has held me back - especially in a 'client services' role. Difficult conversations about budget - i am in. Hard chats about missed deadlines - i am there. Need a point of escalation or just a person to blame - i am all good. ...want to fill 10 minutes talking about me... or my weekend. WORST. NIGHTMARE! I have always shied away from small talk. Waited for others to stop talking before i started. I wouldn't say something, just to have my voice heard. And it often meant that while progressing in the agency world; I was the quietest voice in the room. So now as I sit in a position of responsibility (or power depending on your view), I think its really important to find a way to invite even the quieter voices to the table. To give them the space and confidence to contribute. Because sometimes those quieter voices can add the most value and that different view point you been hoping for. Ways i have found to encourage this internally: 📔 Share the agenda in advance (we like to think and prep) 📓 Allow comments or notes in written format (the pen is mightier than the chat) 👯 Consider smaller groups and the hierarchy of meetings (you might not see titles but others can) 👨🏫 When developing junior teams - encourage and enable practice meetings (this can be a game changer!) 🙋♀️ Teach small talk techniques (it doesn't come natural to us all and the weather chat dries up quick) What techniques do you guys find allow more varied voices to come to the table?

    This August we were joined by the very talented and creative Daisy Pearson-Bennett, a 3rd year student from Arts University Bournemouth! During her 2-week summer placement, we set her a bbd brief with the prompt “Take a marketing campaign/Vintage Ad and give it a new life by making it relevant to today”. Daisy got to work on some great speculative campaign ideas, as well presenting to the creative team, learning more about copy, social and motion as well as all about the day-to-day agency life!     I have just completed my 2-week internship at Bright Blue Day Ltd 🎉 I have had the most incredible time, learning so much about the industry and getting to work with incredibly talented people. During my time here, I was able to work on my own brief while gaining valuable knowledge from observing live briefs. Special thanks to Grace Lai-ming Reeves for looking after me during my time here.
