Our Class Underwriters, James Bright ACII and Adam Taylor ACII, were recently featured in the Insurance Post discussing insuring property damage caused by cyber attacks. The article explores the intersection of cyberspace and the physical world, whilst considering what options for cover exist for businesses in a growing area of the market. Clients in the heavy industry and manufacturing sectors are increasingly looking to insurers to cover property damage that occurs due to cyber-attacks, given the exclusions that tend to be in place across all risk insurance products. Adam and James discuss the Brit Cyber Attack Plus (BCAP) offering, as well as the maintenance of operational technology and the rise in the use of Internet of Things. About us
If the future was predictable, there would be no risk and if change was linear, there’d be no need for experts. There’d be no need for the insurance industry. But the truth is, the world we live in is unpredictable. It’s volatile, uncertain, and subject to change. At Brit, we believe that the uncertainty of the future should never stand in the way of progress. That’s why we exist. To help people and businesses face the future and thrive. Every day, we channel our entrepreneurial expertise to write the most opaque risk that the future holds, embracing the change faced by our clients by delivering a service that’s open, honest, and fair. One that invests in the new products and claims delivery they need in a world of complex risk. We are dedicated to innovation, developing client solutions, efficient capital vehicles and a technology-led service that not only lead the market, but drive the future. Investing in distribution so that we can deliver market-leading analytics to further deepen our relationships with key partners, and investing in our people, so we can amplify the integrity, agility and innovation that define our shared future. So if you’re our partner, broker or an employee we make you this promise: we won’t just react to change, we’ll create it for the better. We won’t just write risk, we’ll write the future. Let’s do it together.

Good luck to Lois Ireson and Alex Barker, who are embarking on their first day of the Raptör Ride in Switzerland. 🚲⛰️ The Raptör Ride is an annual adventure that brings insurance professionals together who have a passion for cycling, whilst raising money for Action Medical Research - a leading charity dedicated to funding vital research to help sick and disabled babies, children and young people. This year’s route is no mean feat and will take the team through the scenic Jura Mountains and Chasseral Nature Park, which involves a lot of climbing. We’re proud to be one of the main partners for this event and wish Lois and Alex a safe and fun journey. Recently our Chief Data Officer, Kanika Chaganty, joined a panel at the launch of Oxbow Partners Generative AI report in London. The report explores the results stemming from a study of 22 specialty and reinsurance firms on the maturity of generative AI and the opportunities that lie ahead. Hosted by the Lloyd's Market Association Association, the event brought together industry experts to present the key findings of the report, followed by a chance for the audience to ask questions. We really enjoyed contributing to the event and hearing from the brilliant panellists. July marks Disability Pride Month, which we are proudly celebrating. At Brit, inclusion is our way of life and we believe in reinforcing a culture where every employee can be their authentic selves and thrive. We’re proud of our partnership with the Business Disability Forum and the work stemming from our Beyond Abilities Employee Resource Group, to find ways to support our employees living with disabilities. Last year, a few of our colleagues attended deaf awareness training to help make our workplace more inclusive, watch the video below to learn more. #LifeAtBrit #Inclusion #DeafAwareness #DisabilityPrideMonth

Recently, we participated in and won the inaugural Equity Sports Day organised by Equity City. The event was organised in celebration of Windrush Day, and we teamed up with Kennedys to create a team led by our Captain, Peter J. The team worked together seamlessly tackling various challenges from an egg and spoon race to total wipeout. The final was a classic tug of war versus Mimecast and our team were triumphant. It was an excellent afternoon out and the camaraderie was electric – of course with some friendly competition. A special thanks goes to Equity City and all the teams that got involved. We’re looking forward to defending our title next year! #BritInsurance #LifeAtBrit #EquitySportsDay2024

We had a great time celebrating Pride Month across June! 🌈 We proudly sponsored and attended the Link: LGBTQ+ Insurance Network and City of London Corporation Guildhall Pride event. 🌈 Together with our colleagues from Ki Insurance, we organised a Pride Quiz Night hosted by drag queen Tanya Hyde, with Asha Silva from Team BRIT as our guest speaker. We raised £730 from this event for our ten chosen charities and an additional £402 for MS-UK. 🌈 We featured the Pride logo on Team BRIT's unique racing cars to mark the occasion. Thanks to our Rainbow Collective Employee Resource Group for organising these events.
