When deciding what to do after her A-Levels, Lydia Stafford, knew she wanted to make a difference💙 After her brother, Gavin, was an in-patient and diagnosed with psychosis at the young age of 15, Lydia was inspired to work in mental health nursing. Now a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist and IROC/ Non-Violent Resistance Lead at Toucan (the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative), Lydia continues to honour Gavin's legacy through her work. New mum, Codie, welcomed her first child, Noelle, at our Women's Hospital after years of infertility struggles caused by endometriosis. Though the process of IVF was new to Codie and her partner, Demery, there was always someone there to offer advice. Congratulations Dr Mohamed 🎉 We want to say a huge congratulations to Dr Zainab Mohamed, Consultant Endocrinologist, who is the latest winner of our Star of the Month award. At the end of June, our Trust hosted the second annual Learning Disability and Autism Conference. The sold-out event saw more than 70 colleagues, professionals from colleges and schools, people with lived experience and parents join us at Birmingham Children's Hospital Lecture Theatre 💙 One attendee commented: “The day just flowed perfectly from start to finish. I enjoyed every minute of the day. I have learnt so much and have got so many more ideas to help and support patients with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
