Throwback to a fun project with UCSF last year — the challenge: Using positive gamification to motivate people without any ranking between peers (which can feel very negative in an educational context). To do this we used: - scoring with awards - a mascot - positive & encouraging language - fun animations Gamification is powerful but can easily become negative if not used correctly. Ever logged into a dashboard lit up with red everywhere? No one wants to use a product that makes them feel bad!

Slow Figma files + prototypes are painful. We spent countless hours going through support and every tip / forum post to find the most impactful stuff: - Figma menu > View > Memory usage and toggle per page. This lets you find problem pages. - Figma cache fix: If instances look weird run this command ‘Regenerate all instances (slow)’ on components from the Quick actions menu (CMD + /) - Use the 'Downsize' plugin to make images way smaller (raster images slow everything down) - Remove hidden image fills - Ditch any hidden layers and frames you don’t need - Avoid Smart Animate unless 100% necessary (use variables instead) - Run these Terminal scripts to clear local Figma cache: rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/com.figma* rm -rf “$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma Hope this helps! ======= More in-depth article with images: https://lnkd.in/esZr-JP2 #figma #uidesign #saasdesign #uxdesign
