🧸 CHECK your children’s knowledge about gas safety with Cadent Ted! “Did you know that gas can be harmful if it leaks? Not to worry! I have created an activity booklet which will explain what gas is and what you can do if you think you can smell it. PSST… it smells like rotten eggs!” 😷 💡 It’s important that everybody knows the simple safety tips to follow if you smell gas. Our two-day Global Technology Conference started today, with over 70+ gas and information technology companies attending the conference from around the world. The conference is bringing together thought leaders and technology partners to accelerate our collective change agenda, to decarbonise our future and understand the crucial role gas networks will play in delivering net zero. #Imagine2033 We had an exciting lineup of speakers, activities, and opportunities to connect. This helps us find technology solutions that enable more flexible ways of working that aim to: • Decarbonise and digitise our network • Put technology to work across our assets and operations • Provide choice to consumers • Support a fair transition and create green jobs; retaining and training our amazing workforce to deliver this future 

We’re committed to making a meaningful difference to the lives of our customers, especially those who become vulnerable if their gas supply or appliances are switched off. Utilising the Vulnerability and Carbon Monoxide Allowance, we've upskilled over 100 engineers to deliver vital services that extend far beyond the network gas supply and assist customers facing financial hardship when their gas appliances are isolated or condemned. Traditionally, these customers have had to choose between staying off gas, risking self-reconnection, or taking on debt for repairs. However, through our Services Beyond the Meter (SBtM) programme, we can go the extra mile to support our customers through a suite of services designed to safely restore their gas supply and ensure their homes are warm and secure. Our programme includes free carbon monoxide (CO) investigations, proactive gas appliance servicing, gas appliance repair and replacement, CO alarm installation, CO and energy efficiency advice, and assistance with accessing essential services. Every customer receives personalised support, helping them to stay safe, warm, and informed. There's always someone at the end of the phone or a message away to ask questions and bounce ideas off, so we're constantly supporting each other.’’ Dan joined Cadent on our Future Talent programme training to be a Construction Engineer after completing sixth form. 13 years later, Dan has since developed into the Network Integrity Team and progressed to Principal Integrity Engineer.
