👋 CAMRA would like to introduce you to our new Business Development Manager, STEVE MANN. 📝 Joining the Commercial Division, Steve’s broad remit includes increasing CAMRA’s commercial revenues to support our main campaigning activities. 🤝 This new role forms a key part of CAMRA’s overall strategy to develop partnerships across not only the pub, social club, brewing and cider making industries, but crucially across the wider commercial landscape. 🍻 With around 150,000 members and 180 local beer festivals across the UK, serving hundreds of thousands of consumers, there are plenty of opportunities for CAMRA to liaise with and work alongside businesses and service providers that support and interact with the beer and pub trades, as well as the lifestyles and activities of festivalgoers who attend CAMRA events. ☎️ If your company, business or commercial venture is interested in exploring the range of partnership opportunities that CAMRA can offer, please contact Steve on 07949 729596, email [email protected] or connect via LinkedIn.

🍺 In response to government’s recently published fee estimates as part of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), read a statement from our Real Ale, Cider & Perry Campaigns Director Gillian Hough. 👉 Read here: https://ow.ly/SHpO50T8Nvi 📝 We signed a letter to government with the British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA), Independent Family Brewers of Britain (IFBB), and SIBA, The Society of Independent Brewers and Associates to warn of the impacts this tax could have on the pub and brewing industries and customers, urging a review of these regulations.

Member of Parliament for Burton and Uttoxeter

It was great to meet with the The National Brewery Heritage Trust at their base in Station Street 🍺 This is where the extensive brewery archive and some artefacts are being kept before they are moved to a new home at Bass House on High Street 🔺 Bass House will soon be opened to the public for tours and for people to have their say on plans for a reimagined National Brewery Centre. The NBHT team have been working hard to protect, preserve and promote the archives and artefacts which together make up the National Brewery Collection. I look forward to working together to promote Burton’s place as the heart of brewing and developing the new national brewery centre to put Burton on the map 📍

Our Chairman, Nik Antona, has announced he will be stepping down from his role with immediate effect due to a serious illness. Nik has resigned his position as CAMRA Chairman and a National Executive member in order to concentrate on treatment and recovery from his illness.  Our National Executive will now conduct an election process to select a new chair for the Campaign.  Nik has served as a CAMRA volunteer for more than two decades, giving his time to his local branch in Burton-on-Trent, as well as serving as a Regional Director, National Director and most recently as CAMRA Chairman for the last five and a half years.  In a message to all members, Nik Antona said: “It has been a privilege to serve as CAMRA Chairman. It has been a challenging time for the organisation, but we have emerged from COVID and the cost-of-living crisis in as good a position as possible, thanks to the tireless dedication of our active members and volunteers, and the support of the wider membership across the country.”  CAMRA’s Vice-Chairman, Ash Corbett-Collins, said: “I’d like to express my thanks to Nik on behalf of my colleagues on the National Executive, and the wider membership, for the time and dedication Nik has shown to the Campaign over his long involvement with the organisation. Most recently he steered the organisation through the challenges of COVID and the cost-of-living crisis.  “We all wish him a speedy recovery from his illness and look forward to welcoming him back as an active member of CAMRA soon.”  CAMRA’s Chief Executive, Tom Stainer, said: “The entire CAMRA staff wishes Nik and his family well as he rightly focuses on treatment and recovery. Nik has led the organisation through one of its most challenging periods and we’d like to thank him for all his hard work in an incredibly difficult and often thankless role.”  Read the full press release here: https://ow.ly/AtKx50T8ncM
