Congratulations to our Investment Director (ESG), Tayo Bilewu, PhD, who has been awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Leadership & Management at Cranfield University. A fantastic achievement and demonstrates a lot of hard work and dedication, well done!
It was a delight to be formally welcomed into the academic community and conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Leadership & Management at Cranfield University Graduation ceremony three weeks ago. My thesis, titled "Exploring the Potential of Impact Investing to Catalyse Transitioning to a Circular Economy," investigated the capacity of private markets to foster a circular economy and support the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals through impact investing. It identifies emerging norms in the impact investing ecosystem, examines the intersection of ESG criteria with investment strategies, and assesses how these investments drive sustainable economic practices in the built environment. Furthermore, it proposes a model for codifying impact investing practice and project-specific facilitated workshops to instigate behavioural change in the development of real estate. For me, generating new insights is only meaningful when they contribute to solving societal challenges. My learning journey has been eased by those who have kindly invested their time in me—the long list deserves a dedicated post. However, most of the research participants have requested anonymity. I would like to extend my gratitude to you all for contributing to my learning experience. My supervisors, Professor JOE NELLIS and Professor Andrew Angus, have both been extremely supportive. Their thought-provoking comments and questions have guided and encouraged me as I navigated the enthralling world of academia. Special thanks also to Professor Constantinos Alexiou and Professor Catarina Figueira. It was fascinating having a Review Panel entirely made up of Economics and Banking Group faculty at the Cranfield School of Management. While this achievement reflects dedication and hard work, my commitment to advancing knowledge in the field of impact investing strengthens the collective expertise at Civitas Investment Management Limited. Here, we believe in making a difference. Alongside generating sustainable returns for investors, we genuinely enhance lives and communities through investing in healthcare, living and specialist education facilities. #ImpactInvesting #CircularEconomy #SustainableDevelopment #CranfieldUniversity #SustainableInvesting #Impactinvesting
